Laz
I'm happy to pay and happy to make that donation. If others feel they don't have to then that is up to the individual. What does gall me is that a certain individual can decide that you and I cannot travel on the coach at a whim. I've since stopped any additional contributions (raffle and player of the month). Colin Zeal EFM
Good for you, Laz. I'm tempted to stop my voluntary contributions myself actually, but I quite enjoy drinking in the bar before and after games, so am reluctant to cut my nose off to spite my face. Laz
Don't forget half-time! I wonder what percentage of bar takings you and I contribute?
The one & only BigRon,EFM
I don't want to labour the point, but did we actually establish whether the chairman of the Supporters Club is a proud owner of a season ticket? Like those comments above, I see little point in a personal witch-hunt. But I do believe that the occupant of that particular position (together with the rest of the committee) should be seen to lead by example. Do everything he (they) can to 'support' the club, rather than allow his (their) personal prejudices to come to the fore. Or is this a case of "think not what I can do for my club, but what can the club do for me?"

Colin Zeal EFM
He's asking whether the Chairman of the Supporters Club Committee owns a season ticket. I'm finding it most disconcerting that no-one from the Supporters Club Committee has been on here to deny that they get in free. Most disconcerting. Brew
I'm on the Supporters Club Committee and I don't pay to get in. Sorry.
AFF
Brew. I have a hunch that you are the chap who runs the bar in the clubhouse. If so, you can't see 90 minutes of the game, presumably. In addition, surely no-one gives more time to the Club on a voluntary basis than you and Mrs Brew, Brew. All those hours pulling pints. Sorting out the stock. Clearing up etc. etc. I'm surprised that you don't get the Clubman [and woman] of the Year award every season. As you have contributed to the discussion, Brew, do you have some kind of Pass, issued by The Chairman or the appropriate member of the Board? Just curious. Brew
No, I have a set of keys so I can lock up when Laz and Zeal have fallen down the stairs.... Thx for the kind comments, although I must point out that Mrs Brew and I do get paid for working at the club on matchdays and it is not all voluntary. Colin Zeal EFM
Brew, you do a top job, and I doubt anyone is suggesting you should pay to get into games. I think this thread refers more to those who claim to do "voluntary" work for the club. If they're gaining free entry, it cannot be described as "voluntary", can it?? Laz
Brew, you certainly do do a top job! I may even fall down those stairs for you tonight.
Brew
True, and cheers, but I was just answering your earlier post seeming as I am on the Committee. You can strike me off the list as it were...

Plus it's buy 5 Buds and get a free Premiership branded glass. I've put your 12 glasses aside ready....
Laz
Thanks, Brew. That definately would send me down the stairs.
AFF
It's a little more subtle than that for me chaps. It is clear that there are people who get into the ground without paying the admission price. If those people are authorised to have free entry by The Chairman and the Board, it's none of my concern. It's up to those involved. My primary concern is whether, or not, there are other people who gain unauthorised free entry to the ground. Unauthorised by The Chairman and the Board. If so, regardless of the amount of time and effort that such people put in to The Club, and regardless of whether they, themselves, consider that they should have free entry, I am very concerned. For me, free entry is authorised by means of a complimentary season ticket, or whatever, issued by The Club or it shouldn't be happening. To me, that's a very simple principle and I have yet to see/hear anyone who disagrees. The day is young, however.
Laz
AFF, where do friends and family of those members stand?
Colin Zeal EFM
Indeed. I would like to know.. a) which of these committee members get in free, and whether their friends and family are also enjoying free admission. With regards to point , I have fairly strong suspicions about a couple of cases.
