Chertsey 3 Egham 1

Game of 2 halves at the lane. Chertsey scored after 2 mins (Phil Page) with a great decisive finish. But then Egham dominated possesion for all of the first half without creating to much, Pommers scored (who else!!!), on stroke of half time, when ball fell at his feet following a ball into the box, good finish.

Change at half time saw Chertsey go to 4-4-2 and McGibbon come on for Worthington, this changed the game as Chertsey looked more solid and dominated possesion.

Justin Gray pulled off a worldy double save to deny Bennent and O'Regan.

With 15 mins to go, Oli Treacher some how managed to keep the ball in after running 40 yards across the pitch, how he got there i'll never know and delivered to the back post for TJ Charlery to smash in a great strike to make it 2-1.

Tired legs all round for last 10, as Egham loaded looked for the equaliser. But it never came and with 5 to go, Dean Papali scored a goal which would have graced the premiership, a good run and quite unbelievable chip over Gray to take the 3 points for the Curfews!

Our 2011 record stands - LLLWWWW (inconsistant but exciting! We have drawn 1 league game all season!!)

With Badshot and Guildford to come in the next to games lets hope its two more WW.

very good game NG lots of passion and pride and probably a fair result our keeper kept us in it at times and he was our man of the match,we were pleased with the way we played against one of the best teams in the league, are they as good as Guildford and will they win the league we will have to wait and see but good luck to them.

So where do we stand on these abandoned games? Just had a flick through the CCL rules on the CCL Official site and I can't see anything about whether results stand on a game that has completed 75 mins as a lot of people seem to think.

I did notice though that if a game is abandoned before half time, then those who paid to get in should be issued a voucher for free entry to the rescheduled match.

got to find a free date now to rearrange it, but it wont be in feb as we have no spare dates

did anyone suggest tonight by any chance AU,the 2 teams are only down the rd from each other and would probably only have taken a couple of phone calls to arrange for officials.

THANKS DUNCS, MMNNNN THINK THAT MOLESEY. CHERTSEY AND BADSHOT LEA ARE ONLY HOPING THAT GUILDFORD DROP POINTS WITH THE PRESSURE OF HAVING TO WIN THEIR OWN GAMES TO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH GUILDFORD.

WHATS WITH THE SENDING OFFS ONE FROM EACH TEAM LAST NIGHT............ NECESSARY ?

JJ WERE MOLESEY DESERVED WINNERS AND DECENT, OR DO YOU THINK A DRAW WAS A FAIR RESULT ?

HOLD UP............WHAT ? NO WHALLOP & HOPE ..........LOL !!!

Both sending offs were deserved/correct. The Cove lad was on the line and he stopped the ball with his hand. It was struck at close range, but the fact is that it stopped a certain goal and the referee had no option. To be fair to the referee, he called Johhno over and seemed to be explaining why he had to do it, rather than just brandishing the card. I know the lad felt it was harsh, but the rules dictate. Our lad kicked the ball away for no reason in the first half so got booked, then could not resist the temptation to do it again in the second and got another, hence the red. Referee again gave a bit of thought to this before calling him over, but the decision was not contested by us as far as the referee is concerned. Weird thing was that with an extra man and 1-0 up we controlled the game but the tempo fell dramatically and I could see us losing momentum and them nicking something from a set piece, as they always looked potentially dangerous from them. Within a couple of minutes of our lad going off we produced a really good piece of football and went 2-0 up - funny game football. I know Brunty was there and indicates that Cove possibly deserved a draw, but I think Duncs view is nearer the mark as their keeper was busy quite a bit of the night - looked a decent keeper to be fair - and I would have been disappointed not to have taken the 3 points. Not a bad game in truth and nice to get on a decent pitch and perform a bit more like we can, after the debacle at Raynes Park on Saturday. Johhno did have a couple of efforts in the second half and all I would say is that they did not quite live up to the cup final one, or the one that he struck at our place in a previous encounter - nuff said! Cove play some nice football and with Jeffers now back and some others still to return they should cause teams problems.

Steve interesting your comments,'nice to get on a decent pitch and perform a bit more like we can, after the debacle of Raynes Park on Saturday. Was it the pitches fault that you lost.or beaten by the better Team on the day,it was a shock to me also that you did lose.

Smudge - the pitch on saturday was dreadful and certainly was a leveller, and the RPV people were apologetic for that side of things. However, it was playable as such and we should have adapted better, but went uphill first half, never got going, and handed the initiative to them. Second half was a more even affair, with a couple of chances going begging, but it was just one of those days. RPV certainly deserved the win and we certainly have no complaints at all. My point was that it was good to be able to get the ball down and play last night and, having suffered the defeat, good to get back on track. No dig at RPV meant, so I hope none taken. They are nice people there and I actually drove out of their car park at 6.45 on the night as the company was very good and we managed to have a good old chat about life in general.
