Cove looked like they would equalise but 3-1 moles game over unlucky on cove as think they deserved a point tonight. Moles just had that bit of quality in the box !!

Draw probably fair result but 2 late Chertsey goals seal derby day victory, Egham dominated first half after Chertsey scored early and inevitably pommers makes it 1.1 half time, more even second half and a stunning strike across the Egham keeper by Trevor charlery and a delightful Philip Albert like chip by Dean papali seal 3 crucial points for Chertsey.

South Park 0 Sandhurst 2 - abandoned due to fog after 73 mins so I am told

Bookham 1-1 Epsom & Ewell.

 

Harsh result for a Bookham side who played impressive football and controlled the game prior to the ref temporarily halting the game with 13 minutes still to play, Bookham being 1 up. The fog started to close in after half time and it became difficult to see the far end. A penalty was awarded to Bookham, which most of the crowd around me hadn't realised until it was being taken, as it was down the other end! Bookham missed the pen and shortlly afterwards the ref brought his linesmen together for a conflab. They must have spent 6 or 7 minutes having a debate before disappearing into the changing rooms. This seemed odd, as conditions hadn't really changed in the previous 15 minutes or so. Apparently the ref wanted to give it ten minutes. After 15, the officials emerged to identical conditions. A further 5 minutes of pondering ensued before we had a decision to play on, after the players had a warm up. Once play restarted, the fog had almost completely cleared! E's came out of the blocks and quickly got a penalty, with the Bookham defender seeing red. Matt Fowler tucked away the pen and E's pressed for the winner. The full time whistle finally sounded at 10.02pm.

So where do we stand on these abandoned games? Just had a flick through the CCL rules on the CCL Official site and I can't see anything about whether results stand on a game that has completed 75 mins as a lot of people seem to think.

 

I did notice though that if a game is abandoned before half time, then those who paid to get in should be issued a voucher for free entry to the rescheduled match.

We think that was the score. The second half was farcical as we couldn't see what was going on. I was getting updates on Twitter of games being thrown into chaos and called off all around the south east - Aldershot, Chesham, Leatherhead, Horsham, Bookham etc. I'm certain if our game had been in any other competition the ref would have called it off but we managed to get through to the end. Haven't got a clue who the scorers were in the second half.

Yateley Green aren't a bad side. They may be in line for promotion this season to the Surrey Elite but I couldn't draw their secretary on making a decision whether they'd go for it or not. They were in the Wessex League for a while in the past and the travelling nearly killed them so they're very wary about going down that route again. Football-wise they'd cope. They're not far short of Virginia Water's standard and they're doing alright this season.

Bought a good crowd down with them tonight as well.

We're at home to Frimley Green or Ash in the next round. We haven't got any spare dates until late March so there's no immediate rush for them to get their game replayed.

South Park 0 Sandhurst 2 - abandoned due to fog after 73 mins so I am told

 

Was planning to go to this, but got in late from work so pleased I didn't now! Sandhurst must be gutted!

 

 

Sandhurst 2-0 up at half time and looking a league above, better organised, kept the ball better and in control. DT10 rose like a salmon to head the away side into the lead. They double there lead from a swift moved ending in a neat finish.

 

Second half was a different game Park taking the game to Sandhurst and had a few good chances but unable to take them, Sandhurst had the ball in the net but ruled out for a dubious offside (i couldnt see and i doubt the lino could either). Fog got too bad with Park pushing for a goal. Loved the Sandhurst fan shouting "C'mon you Fizzers" every five minutes. Not sure what happens now hope we get a second bite of the cherry, although we dont deserve it on our first half showing!!
