Lowestoft v Blues

Recommended Posts

Well done to the Blues and to the supporters that were available to make the trip to the coast.

Not many teams take away points from Lowestoft.

Up to 11th place now and moving in the right direction applaus.gif

A warming result for us. They had most of the possession, we had the more chances (well, five in relation to thier two). A draw was the right result, really...

Should've gone in at half time one up but for a clearance off the line (when I mean clearance off the line, I mean some of the ball looked over the line by the time the Lowestoft player hoofed the ball out), Chris Wild had a header go just wide and a lovely cross across the goal from a free kick travelled to the back post where Flanners, un marked, was unable to wrap his foot around the ball.

The second half, they have most of the play (and the play acting - They are as bad as Tonbridge were a couple of seasons ago). One chance to them and the scored...They had another, which quite frankly should've been put away...a header which sailed over the bar. Then "The Mighty 'Ricay", started to get into it and in injury time, equalised through Anderson coming in at the back post. A minute later, we could've pulled off one of the most amazing "smash and grabs" in the history of "smash and grabs"....Free kick which Flanners smashed goalwards, only to have the goalkeeper pull off a superb save....and it was going in!!!

A great result for us and credit to the players...everyone of them worked hard and stuck at their game. A derserved point.

And our support was generously acknowledged by Craig, who came to and thanked all those behind the goal by shaking their hands!!! Top man!!!

Losing was never part of our script, after their goal we showed great determination, and as the minuets ticked bye we kept increasing the pressure, and they got ever more jittery, Wildy caused havoc!!!

The save from Flanners thunderbolt was class, strong hands .

Another good team performance.

Top support from those who traveled, It helped the team and was very much appreciated.:applaus:

The ref. must spend a fortune on whistles and notebooks

The boys worked hard last night and were rightly rewarded with a point, how good would it have been to have nicked all three with that last minute shot from Flanners?!!

Myself and Umbrella man could not believe the faces on the locals at full time, they looked as if they had just lost their 6th game on the bounce!!! A little sing song leaving the ground didn't help I suppose but hey its very unusual that late goals go our way!

Quality effort from those who made the journey, good crack had by all behind the goal. As for the ref, I think he must have got overlooked as a child, very whistle happy and attention seeking!

I will now miss the next few games, but feel confident of coming back to a continued unbeaten run with us mounting a serious play off challenge.

Well done to the lads, a fine effort to come here on a Tuesday night and leave with something positive.

It was a game of few chances. I thought we put in a very disciplined performance and was impressed by the way we stuck at it, even when we went a goal behind.

For the benefit of the Lowestoft fans, a taxi clearly wouldn't have been big enough to get us all there, we would have needed at least two :icon29:

Hopefully we can get at least the same from another long-ish trip on Saturday.

Fantastic performance last night the team worked hard for all of 95+ minutes. 1st half was fairly even then they scored from a good move. This seemed to encourage us and we always looked like forcing a draw despite a ref who was probably the most inept we have seen all year. fortunately none of the Lowestoft 'players' (in the theatrical sense of actors) managed to fall over and scream in the penalty area so he wasn't able to secure his winnings on the bet he must have placed. even the lowestoft people could not understand some of the bookings.

Still we got the result we definitely earnt and deserved and if their keeper had not made a fantastic save in the last minute we might have snatched a great victory.

well done to every one concerned and lets hope we can repeat the effort on sat.
