Ryman League - Hornchurch 2 Harrow Borough 1

It was a shaky start but we did what we were expected to do by beating the bottom club.

Harrow took the lead after 12 minutes. Harrow's Lopez Clemerye took advantage of a misunderstanding between Scott Gooding and keeper Daniel Gay to steal the ball in the penalty area but was brought down by Gay. Gay received a yellow card when many were expecting a red and Stuart Elliot converted from the spot. We equalised just before half time. A Jude Sterling free kick was floated in towards the penalty spot, a defensive header went straight up in the air and Steve West blasted home as it came down.

5 minutes into the second half a Steve West header from a corner was pushed up onto the bar by Harrow keeper David Hook and a few minutes later Vinnie John narrowly missed with a header from a John Keeling cross. Our winner came in the 68th minute when a Keeling free kick from near the corner flag was sent to the far post where Bradley Allen (on his debut, and on his birthday) ran in to bundle the ball home. At the end an incident between Gavin McGowan and Harrow's Steve Dogbe boiled over, the result being a straight red for Dogbe and a second yellow for McGowan.

Line-up:- Gay, Gooding (Allen 32), Kerrigan, Adedeji, West, J Martin, Keeling, Sterling (Southon 45), John, Douglas (Cowley 78), McGowan. Subs not used:- A Martin, Collier (GK)
