Transfer deadline day

Like a number of you I'm sure been following the transfer deadline deals go through. As I watch the deals for Torres and Carroll get completed got me thinking just how loyal a striker like Chenns was to us. Five seasons, huge potential, pursued by all sorts of clubs, played under three managers, went through months of not being paid, stayed at club when most others left, second joint top scorer in premier division and stayed loyal to the end. Makes you appreciate again how wonderful the club was for someone of Chenns ability to stick with us when players at all levels are so quick to leave as today's transfer window has shown. I've said it to Chenns privately and happy to say it publicly thanks for the loyalty mate now get yourself a club and fulfil your career aspirations. And that last line can be repeated to all players.

It would be nice to have the opportunity to say thank you to him formally. Maybe a supporters club event! If chenns signs up for the new club and he is sold in the summer he can leave the new club with a real boost that his legacy deserves, but the last thing we would want to do is stand in his way.
