Lowerstoft tomorrow

Recommended Posts

Hi Umbrella Man

I'm Morris Minor from Lowestoft Town FC, don't these shocker trips" your words not mine" apply to us as well and any club supporter in this League, we had to come to you as well on a Tuesday night earlier on in the season but we don't complain about the travelling, if you are a true supporter of your club you just get on and do it.

So how many people are gonna do this shocker of a trip would be bad enough on a Saturday but a Tuesday night :deadflies:

Hello Morris,

At last someone responded to my post i would have replied earlier but at the time of your posting i was already in your wonderful town having fun :deadflies: .

Left beautiful Laindon at 1pm stopping off at Billericay to pick up at 1.15pm then full speed to Lowerstoft after a 2 hour journey (not to bad) we parked up and headed into town.

First stop Bank Stores can't wait for 1st beer of the day,After fighting our way through some kind of smog we get to the bar, pint of Guinness please mate ...all out of that welcome to Lowerstoft.

Then we head into town via chav city known here as Macdonalds after some munch we try our luck at another pub The Volunteer (top boozer best of the day) on entering we soon discovered that we had the run of the place and the juke box which was soon blasting out Madness and Bow Wow Wow

.After an hour or so here we move onwards to the next pub.

The Welcome (what a sad excuse for a boozer) not much to say except the quiz machine is fixed and the beer is S**t not one of the 3 out us finished our beer just rank.

Next was The Wheatsheaf looked ok from the outside but once entering soon see that it was full of no marks most of them of them all on the special £1 for a bottle of carlsberg thumbup%20(2).gif lovely,Special mention to the fella that went to the bog 5 times in 45 minutes Sir you are a legend .

Time to move on as kick off get's near next stop is The Factory Arms good as gold in here empty except for an Iron Maiden fan and barmaid beer was good plus there was a chalk board in the restroom photo evidence is on phone and will be shown at Margate if anyone intrested.

Time for a quickie in The Havelock was told by a local to stay clear but was ok decent beer and good juke box left there at 7.46pm with One Step Beyond blasting away as we left .

Arrived at game still not kicked off was either late or we was in a time warp.

This is where i falter jl will do the match write up not much going on little bit of banter with the natives during the 1st half h't 0-0.

Quickie in club house (nice) then go1 behind then throughout the 2nd half i rammbled on about a 90th min goal for us and guess what :taz: :monkey: :strawberry: :tongue2: :woohoo: :discobanana: :thrilled: i was right i didn't have a camera so this is us behing the goal when we scored. Also add we had a load on the side as well and in the seats :top:

Game finished 1-1 well chuffed a shocker turned in to a stunner of a day out .

Then we hit a chinese in the town (top munch) when leaving bumped in to the coach on it's way home well done fella's top effort tonight .

Next stop Margate you know you want it.

Only 500 ticket's left

Interesting read there Umbrella ! - Had a chuckle at the below part ... Smog ? whats all that about ? no smoking ban up there ? No guiness ?

"First stop Bank Stores can't wait for 1st beer of the day,After fighting our way through some kind of smog we get to the bar, pint of Guinness please mate ...all out of that welcome to Lowerstoft"

A sterling effort as always from the advanced party , and i really do think there could be a themed space in the programme entitled "away days with an Umbrella" ... It sure would make a fun read and something that i am sure other fans would like to read too who perhaps do not view the messageboard.

Already looking forward to the Margate write up !

Hello Keith,

They were not smoking in the pub but were puffing in beween the doors(the front door and the door to the bar) if that makes any sense.

And the Guinness then think they just had run out of it.

I'll do another for Margate if i can still type when i get home.

There are still 497 tickets left for Margate and if all goes to plan will be leaving before 7am and in The Mechanical Elephant :elephant: for about 10am.
