Thommo back at Woking

I'm pleased to see Steve Thompson back in football after being named as assistant and coach to Garry Hill,the newly appointed manager of Woking.

We are certainly blessed with some high profile and not-so high ex-Slough players becoming managers and such like ie Dave Kemp[stoke],Brian McDermott[Reading],Alan Dowson[Kingstonian],Steve Hale[Northwood],Gary Abbot[sittingbourne],Mark West[Thame United] and our very own Steve Bateman!

 

I hope one day Steve Thompson gets to manage or coach Slough,as he was one of the finest talented players ever to wear the Slough shirt and a gentleman to boot.

I've been watching slough since 1972, & imo he was the best player i've ever seen.Great balance,stamina & the ball always seemed glued to his foot.Also scored some tasty goals.
