I spent a bit of time today looking at various fans forums throughout the Premier division. A lot of clubs have been effected by our plight, teams will now lose points and can have major impact on the promotion race and relegation dog fights, but despite that it was warming that there was not one negative comment I could find, supporters from all clubs are truly sorry for our demise and we were genuinely liked as a club and group of supporters. I personally would like to thank them all and I'm to going miss the Southern League as pretty much every ground we have been welcomed and enjoyed good friendly banter. Good luck to all teams and their supporters for the remainder of the season.

Yep well said Geggy i've thoroughly enjoyed my trips to away matches in the southern league and good luck to all the clubs for the rest of the season!

I agree wholeheartedly with the above.

I hadn't watched an awful lot of Southern League football since going to Hounslow as a kid back in the mid/late eighties until this season, and whilst I would say that IMO the standard of football is maybe not as high as the Ismithian League, I have found that the clubs are certainly more friendlier and more welcoming. It'll be sad to have to leave this league behind, but I'm sure that we'll be back in time to come.

Definitely well said Geggy I too have done this and its been a really nice response to see. The Tiverton fans that were down on Saturday I thought were excellent and a real credit to their club. All the horsing around behind their goal really did bring moments on fun and humour to what was an otherwise very sad night for us. There are some very nice posts on their message board and generally people do seem very sympathetic.

I think when we first moved to the southern league there was a lot of debate about what it would be like, but I for one have really enjoyed the ride! Some great road trips, great fans and great football over the past few seasons.

I have to say myself and Jez were in the stands when the lights went out on Stag meadow for the last time it was quite a poignant moment broken a few seconds later by the fact jez had tapped the stand just at the point they went out thus spurring jokes about our dodgy electrics...

The only club Ciren have visited where the welcome was churlish was Salisbury. Fans and, sad to say, 'back office' alike. First time they were on their rise having gone through the Eastern Division into the Prem where we played them early on and gave them a heck of a match before Tubbs (!!) got the winner. Then early this season, where we were given the full 'Conference' treatment. No need for it.

Ironic that they appear to have had the most benefit in terms of points adjustment from yr sad demise. Doubly ironic that they had an even worse debt than youse but appear to have wriggled out of it and may well escape upwards this year
