Good steady game where we were always going to score at some point, it was just when and how many - 3-0 was about right.

Atherstone were one of the weaker sides we have played, and I am struggling to remember how many shots they had on target but it was not many.

Not going to nominate a MOTM, as in some games there is not an outstanding player, however the TEAM played well.

Only sour point of the game was there number 9 who lost the plot and made a right fool of himself.

Now up to 5th on goal difference.

A good, comfortable all round performance from the team today. Fanner didn't have a save to make and we could have scored more goals, but the important thing is the 3 points and a clean sheet. The only change to the team from Tuesday was Yads out (of the squad) and Perkins in.

Hopefully we can take that into the next game on Tuesday and go into the Arlesey game with 6 points from these 2 games.

Hard to pick a MOTM today as the whole team played well. Well done to the team for a very professional performance all over the pitch.

job done basically simple as that

shame we didn't get more in 2nd half though it doesn't particularly matter. 3-0 by half time was always going to be hard to add to that when in such a lead so quickly

clean sheet is always nice and lets face it Charlie Fanner has deserved one

still a few shaky moments in defence but Perkins returning was pretty good for us. we seem more solid when he is playing thats for sure

few injury fears with Sinclair and Coyne going off. Burnell came off though fairly sure he wasn't injured

A good solid all round team performance against, what has to be said, a mediocre Atherstone team. Defence looked more solid with the return of Steve Perkins who was IMO MOTM.

Still very tight between a number of teams. On the surface I would say the top three will be Hitchin, Arlesey and Rugby with Slough, Aylesbury, Daventry, Biggleswade, Leighton and Woodford fighting it out for the remaining two play-off places.

One things for sure because there are a few teams with games in hand on us we cannot afford to drop very many points on the run in.

Yes, difficult one isn't it? And where have we heard this before? Still, someone's got to pick one, and whoever it is, there'll be someone who isn't happy about it!

Matt, off course your right, you will never please everybody with the choice of MOTM. Tuesday's game was probably the first time this season that the choice of MOTM was called into question.

As a suggestion, some teams have a MOTM poll on their web-site. This way the people who are really interested in who gets picked as MOTM get the chance to vote and as always the majority rules. Just a suggestion.

adequate performance today against a team that gave us time on the ball, still some poor mistakes made where a better organised team would have punished us,we need imo some more solid defensive players , large mobile ones who are young and hungry for success and on their way up rather than older and on their way down. not having a go at anyone just a suggestion.

This is something I've suggested in the past and would quite like to see myself, but will leave it with Tom to see how easy it is to implement. I know he's got some changes up his sleeve for the website. In the absence of this, there's nothing to stop someone setting up a poll on this forum (assuming that function is still available) and setting it to run until, say, Sunday afternoon. It just needs a volunteer...

As for the game itself, very comfortable three points and we should maybe have had a couple more in the first half. The second half was a walk in the park really and I felt the team took its collective foot off the pedal and coasted to victory. Nice clean sheet for Charlie Fanner too. A very welcome result but Atherstone really didn't pose much of a threat.

Entirely professional performance against a limited side and we dominated from start to finish. Looked much more defensively sound with Perkins back in the team. Good to see the goals flowing for Sonner and Burnell after a spell in the side together.

Let's hope we can keep this going Tuesday at Northwood - COYR.

Very strange result at Marlow yesterday - they lost 7-4 to Uxbridge!

Whilst by no means spectacular, we did what was necessary to beat an extremely limited Atherstone side.

For once this season, I can actually say that we didn't really look like conceeding a goal.

It is now very important that we put get into a good run in order to keep the pace with those teams with games in hand around us.

There were lots of positives from yesterday - 3 goals, 3 points, clean sheet etc. but standing behind Charlie Fanner in the first half our defence from set pieces was quite terrible. Lots of arm waving, lots of finger pointing, shouts of you get him or similar and men being left unmarked. You can see how we concede so easily from crosses into our box.

Isn't it normally up to the goalkeeper or nominated vocal defender/s to organise the defence?

This type of thing should be worked on in training. It's called a well drilled defence.
