Hi everyone

As some of you are aware already I'm running the London marathon in April. It's for a brillant cause ( the stroke assiocation) and I'm basically asking for all your money! :) joking aside it would mean alot if you could read my story and donate anything you can. I'm a third from my target already but it would amazing if I could smash my target, the site you can donate at is www.justgiving.com/Markkirby10

in addition to this I've spoke to Paul read and on the 12th feb our home game against Sudbury I'll be doing a bucket collection and handing out sponsorship forms.

It would really mean alot to my family and I if you could help out by just donating a small amount that would be excellent.

Thanks for taking time out reading this and I'll see everyone at the next match

Mark, give me a sponsorship form for the shop at the next home game & I'll encourage some sponsorship for you.

Dave.

Kirb's-I was getting into an arguement with Steve on Tuesday in regards to how long you'll need to recover from the marathon. He reckons you'll be out for the rest of the season after running it. What do you think???

Before you answer that the 88 year old who ran it last year was out shopping in Marks and Spencers the next day, so you should be ok in a week or so.

Went to watch the marathon today and saw Kirbs passing through Blackfriars at roughly 23 miles and he was going strong. A few words of encouragement was greeted with a determined fist pump from the man himself. Well done skip!! :excited: :dance (2): :brille008:

Randomly I turned over to the highlights this evening on BBC2 and guess who was shown passing through the finishing lane just behind Matthew Pinsent??...........................yep you got it, Kirbs, and he was looking pretty chuffed with himself too :bounce:

Given the time Pinsent did, it would appear Mark went round in just over 4 hours?? Once again, great effort :applaus:

There's one Mark Kirby listed on the Marathon website and he had a time of 4:07:48.

Good effort Mark. Enjoy your rest, you've earned it.

Dan Trenkel managed a creditable 4:37:21.

Anyone know any other players from our Division wh took part?

Well done Mark. A good time especially as it was so hot. You beat me by 35 seconds - I came in at 4:08:23

Thanks to everyone for your kind support!

Mini-smith was it you when I just came out the tunnel on the right!?

Real hot day but I'm really happy with my time considering hadn't done the best training for it. Last 2 miles was a struggle with my left leg not bending at all but I didn't stop and jogged the whole race so happy with the outcome.

Thanks to all your donations and for the support

Hope to see everyone on saturday
