Absolute disgrace that even with the new 25 man squad rule and having fielded a team consisting of those 25 players, Blackpool are fined £25000 for fielding a 'weakened team'!!!

The Premier league are basically saying you can have a 25 man squad, but really before you pick a team from that squad, you must run it by them and they will determine wether or not its a team thats strong enough to play!!!! I hope Blackpool and Ian Holloway tell them where to stick the fine and they fight it all the way! What happens when Sir Purple Nose rests his star players and plays with a weakened team!!! What is the point of having a 25 man squad, what is a weakened team from the squad of 25???

Is it because every player in Sir Purple Nose's 25 man squad would probably get into every other squad in the premier division and the likes of Blackpool and say Wigan's players are not the household names that the 'Big 4' players are!!!!

Since when are the Premier League qualified to determine how good a football side are?!?!?! As others have said, a squad is there to be used, and it should be the manager's right to mix and match as he sees fit. Holloway should have to answer to the Blackpool fans if they're unhappy, not the League...

It always makes me mad when this happens. If you look at the 25 man squads of Chelsea and Man City and the amount of money they have it allows them to have players that all first teamers, are you telling me that the league would know if either of these two teams fielded a weaken team. Also teams like Chelsea have also rotated squads isn't this a form of fielding a weaken team?

 

Blackpool and other teams like them have probably 12-15 first teamers in their squad of 25 so it easy to tell if they field a weaken team. If the league insist on a 25 man squad then it should make no difference which 11 play. As stated it is down to the fans to let the manager know if they think the team is a 'weakened team' but we all know that the main priority is to stay in the Premier league because of the amounts of money involved.

i agree with nearly everything said above. Someone from the premier league needs to explain why they insist on a squad then fine teams for using them!!! It seems that all they know is EA!!!!
