Would the crowds be any better in Conference South? How many teams in that division actually have decent away support?

Ok, I know it's my fault and I shouldn't quaff a few beers at the away games, what else can you do but go into a nice warm clubhouse, but it works out at least £30 a time on away trips.

Perhaps we could come to an arrangement with other teams in the league to have a percentage of home supporters wear the favours of the away team and cheer for them on the day, that way we wouldn't have the expence of travelling and could go shopping with the missuses

Just been browsing the forum of North Shields FC (the Robins), my son lives up there. They have the same problem with attendances, average around 100 for home games.

One suggestion they have implemented is to have holders of Newcastle United season tickets get into North Shields game this Saturday for £1.

Could we do similar for holders of Hammers and Daggers, perhaps £5 would be more realistic. Perhaps extend the offer to Orient supportes too, thinking of you Michael.

I actually thought there is something like that in place already that is sponsored by Ryman? or at least there was once upon a time. I recall in the Canvey Island away programme last season there was an advert saying that Season Ticket holders of any Premier League or Football League team could watch any Ryman game for £5 by showing their Season Ticket at the gate? maybe it was just a Canvey thing, but I'm sure it stated all Ryman teams?

Perhaps another non-starter but has the Club considered holding Sunday morning car boot sales in the car park? The area is not that big but quite a few cars could be squeezed in. They sometimes have them on school playgrounds and they are not that big. Last time we went to a car boot sale to raise some holiday money I think we had to pay £ 7.00 for the pitch. Maybe you need Council permission? If so, then we have no chance!

I don't think that promotion to the Con South would make much difference to our attendances, perhaps an extra 80 or so. The financial side would be much heavier on the club. Getting the youngsters into the games is our future support. I've always said that kids for a quid is a good idea as once in the ground they will always spend on burgers and pop anyway.

Not so sure, the clubs in the Conference south do bring more away fans.

Teams like Dartford,Chelmo,Dover would bring down twice as many as other clubs in our league, teams like welling & woking are well supported as well.

I also think the higher exposure would ensure our gates were around the 400-450 mark with games against dartford & chelmsford attracting 7-800 depending on the timing of the games.

I agree aboout kids for a quid but aren't they quite cheap anyway.

I would actually go for under 12's free with an adult

i would actually try it for the margate game tuesday and next saturdays home game.

Hendon did it last season,my only gripe with that is that why should fans of just hornchurch pay full price when fans of other clubs can get in cheaper,it doesn't make sense to me,just seems to penalise the hardcore following

Wouldn't suggest we did it for every home game, but give it a try once and see whether it works. Once these incomers get a taste of all on offer at the Bridge they'll be keen for more.

Can't see us playing Dartford next season anyway, what with them being relegated and us being promoted we'll pass one another.
