Essex Senior Cup

Recommended Posts

If, like me, you were wondering about the semi's you may be interested to know that the Semi Final draw will take place live on BBC Essex on Thursday 3rd February at 4:30pm.

The other semi-finalists are Avely, Heybridge Swifts and Grays or Southend who play each other on Wednesday 2nd February.

If we're drawn away I do love a trip to Scraley.

In terms of footballing reason of "maybe" progressing to the final a home draw against Heybridge may be more beneficial to the club . Would like to steer clear of Aveley and Southend (assuming they beat Grays) .

Isnt it nice though to be able to enjoy this bit ! Speculation and opinions :)

Yes, Heybridge would be my preferred draw , because we have just played Aveley, and I would like Southend or Grays in the Fina. (if we progress)

But lets not forget Heybridge beat Hornchurch comfortably so whoever we get, it's going to be a tough game

And if we get knocked out, then they can all go ....k themselve'sdance%20%282%29.gif

A cup semi final eh....:brille008:

Agreed. Wasn't suggesting Swifts were the easiest draw for us, but there's something about a winters night in Scraley Road, with the sea mist crawling in across the fields, the chilled dampness creeping up through your feet and the icy east wind blowing in from the sea and leaving salt crystals on your extremeties.

And the dreaded blackout if they go behind early on. doh.gif

That's okay, we'll just ask 'em to bring their cars around and play by headlamps....

Grays lost 1-2 last night, so it's Southend in the draw later today.

So lets hope we avoid Southend in the next round and hope to meet them in the final...now that would be a final to whet the appetite of 'Ricay supporters....

In those circumstances, would the final be held at Colchester's ground? I hope so....

I think the final is played these days at daggers . Colchester ground would be a nice venue and easy to get to 30 min and one road all the way - but suspect it will be Daggers . Just a small matter of getting to final first though !

Home to Heybridge ..but I guess some of us knew that already....

Well, i guess we have to pleased with that. At home first and foremost, and avoiding Avelely and Southend . However, Heybridge will also fancy their chances , but what a real chance to make a final !
