Semi-final ! - The game was played in true football conditions. It was boggy (understatement) the goals were under puddles of water...in fact a fair amount of the pitch had plenty of surface water, brilliant conditions ! Superb first goal and again a really good free kick into the box for the second . To their credit both teams tried as best they could to keep the ball on the floor and actually some decent stuff was produced . Had a couple of nervous moments but generally i think we were that one step too quick overall and deserved to progress. Well Done the team .

in those conditions it was all about hard work, and full credit to our lads, they worked their socks off.

They had to, because GW were working just as hard and if we had stepped off, they would have punished us.

As Keith says a proper game of football,

Both sides were really up for it and GW were unlucky when the ball smacked the corner of the post.

Big Ced was all over the place and was also unlucky not to have had at least one of his shots go in.

 

It was nice to see a smile back on the face's of all concerned with BTFC.

I thought GWR started the better and we had a bit of a lucky escape when Jones "delected" one on to the post. However, we gradually asserted ourselves and over the 90 minutes I thought we were well worth the win, with a couple of good goals from set pieces and a couple of pretty strong penalty shouts turned down.

 

It was good to see Sean back to somewhere near his best but MoTM for me was Micah who I thought turned in a top effort. Ced worked hard again but I thought Bertie and Laws could have tried to keep the ball a bit better at times. As said above, it was a bit attritional at times, so credit to our lads for sticking at it. Hopefully we can get another home draw in the Semi.
