Colin Firth has come a long way since Fever Pitch hasn't he and celebrating Michael Thomas's goal at Anfield to those immortal Brian Moore words 'It's Up For Grabs Now'

Mickey Thomas Rhodesly? Not sure I ever heard him called Michael but perhaps you might have, where was that?

Loosely - Well try this link for size, I've never called him Mickey and I don't think many, if any, true Arsenal fans have:

Just cant believe "Made in Dagenham" didn't make the shortlist, brilliant actors, historically accurate, and base on a true story that improved the lives of tens of millions of woman.

Missunderstood - Yes me too, it was very much the film of the year for me. Dagenham is really on the map at present isn't it what with the Daggers amazing promotion last season and Stacey Solomon winning I'm A Celebrity.

Cheers Rhodes, I thought perhaps I was bringing my own personal bias into this one as I was brought up in Dagenham, and my Mother in Law worked in the Fords River Plant at the time of the strike. I actually remember going into the place where it all started on numerous occasions and the way it was reproduced for the film was just uncanny.

Here are the main nominations folks for the 83rd Academy Awards which will be hosted this year by the stunning Anne Hathaway and James Franco on Sunday 27 February:

So are we getting ready to rumble folks for this coming Sunday, can anybody realistically see Colin Firth being turned over for Best Actor

Mickey Thomas Rhodesly? Not sure I ever heard him called Michael but perhaps you might have, where was that?

I think you're confusing Michael Thomas with former Wrexham, Man Utd & Wales' Mickey Thomas. He's the one that scored the free kick for Wrexham that knocked Arsenal out of the FA Cup in '92.

Coincidentally, Michael Thomas scored for Liverpool in that year's Cup Final v Sunderland.

Hookey - Once again Loosely has been found out, he boasts an encyclopedic knowledge but is just 'small fry' like you and me at the end of the day

Lol, quite odd that you didn't pick up on it which suggests that you are either less helpful or less knowledgeable yourself Rhodesy. Either way you are found wanting.

Now Rhodes, have you seen the King's Speech and actually know what you are talking about for a change?

Went to see the film a few weeks ago and it certainly lived up to all the hype. Colin Firth gave a brilliant performance, as did all the cast, and I thought Geoffrey Rush was at least as good as Colin Firth..

Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role

Christian Bale, 'The Fighter'

John Hawkes, 'Winter's Bone'

Jeremy Renner, 'The Town'

Mark Ruffalo, 'The Kids Are All Right'

Geoffrey Rush, 'The King's Speech'

Missunderstood - I note that Geoffrey Rush is up for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his amazing performance and should walk away with it blind folded shouldn't he

We'll take it as a "No", you haven't seen The King's Speech Rhodes and a "Yes" I don't know what I'm talking about ass usual from you then.

Loosely - No, I can't say I have seen the King's Speech yet but I've read all the reviews. Have you seen it out of interest, you don't have to see a film to know full well that it's a master piece, LATO has never seen Titanic for example

I rest my case.

Yes I've seen it, don't normally appreciate Colin Firth except for one previous performance but he was exceptionally good in The King's Speech, however have also seen The Social Network and can't help feeling that Hollywood will want to share the awards out and give Essenberg Best Actor. Geoffey Rush definitely for Best Supporting though, completely outstanding.

Loosely - I can't see it somehow, Mark Zuckerberg is just a flip flop wearing IT geek, nerd or boffin, call him what you will and similar to those individuals who were involved with Southill Alexander in the beginning who were possibly looking to make a fast buck, the whole Facebook phenomenon is not overly popular at the end of the day as it leaves a bad taste in the mouth for a number of reasons

Well Rhodes, since you've seen none of the films, never saw SA , a team with eleven players on the pitch with a damn good manager play how can you have a balanced opinion on any of it? Odd you bring up making money since that is what Hollywood is all about and have no problem with it and SA owners were only interested in non league football and knew well that you never make money out of it - who does ffs? Not as if you are a well balanced personality is it?
