What is the most annoying thing....

Recommended Posts

What winds you up more than anything else with football nowadays!! Is it the diving, too many foreigners in the English game, too much money, no respect to the officials, bad officials!!!!!

I dont like players feigning injury, conning the referees by rolling around like little girls (not sure wether I should use that phrase in this day and age!!!) and basically cheating.

In the highest levels of football I find the most annoying thing to be that football clubs are run as business corporations with the actual 90 minutes on the pitch used as just a selling tool. It takes the fun out of the sport!

At Canvey's level it's the lack of consistancy in the decision making during a game. Why do most officials refuse to award penalties so early in the game? It's the same with red card offences. Why are Referees so reluctant to send players off after five minutes, when the same offence would see them walk after 65 minutes?

Smart [****!!****] commentators & pundits like Andy Gray sitting their having a pop at decisions a referee/linesman has made after having the benefit of 20 different angles and a slow motion camera!! The ref/lino can see things only once on the pitch, and whether they're right or wrong, it doesn't need someone ex-footballer/current-alcoholic to show how a players finger nail was 0.3mm past the last defender!

As Matt says, the money that revolves around the top of the game annoys me, both the money that is spent by the clubs and similarly the amount of money it costs to watch them. Whenever I read autobiographies of players from the 60's/70's/80's, I can't help but think that it was a healthier game back then, and even though some clubs were bigger than others, I think the extent that the likes of Manchester City have taken it is to the detriment of football.

One thing that annoys me on the pitch is when one team tries to waste time by sheilding the ball down by the corner flag. For me, as soon as a player does this the opposition should be allowed to tear the back of his legs to shreds until the player looks like Douglas Bader! Time wasting in general annoys me, but can also be sweet when the other team pinch a goal towards the end, just like at the Southend match on Friday night. Bury scored and then proceeded to waste as much time as possible, only for Mohsni to equalise in the 94th minute!

Agree with Simmo about cheats as well, where provable players should be given such lengthy bans for diving etc that they wouldn't dare think about doing it.

I agree with the above regarding officials. I have no complaint with free kicks being given against us IF we are given the same in return, but time and time again, niggly fouls are given against us yet heavy more blatant fouls seem to go unpunished. Although on the plus side of that is at least you can say that the majority of officials in this league seem to be very consistent.......... Consistently sh1te!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Management have to accept responsibility for this as well, I would welcome Batchy coming down hard on any CIFC player cheating at the levels seen in the top flight. Not that I am a lover of Rugby, but I love the way they spend 80 minutes trying to prove that are not hurt yet top flight footballers spend 90 minutes conning everyone into thinking they are hurt. Obviously no morals in top flight football, I wouldn't be able to face anyone if they saw me on live tele rolling around ALA Nani when hit by an opponents lace as they challenge for the ball, constantly dabbing his face then looking at his hand for any signs of blood!!! MINCER!!!!

Yeah I saw that, that'll teach em!

People don't pay money to watch teams shield the ball in the corner!

Although Scopesy used to do it in our corner and as a couple of players run in he would plant an elbow on one !!!:97:

That was money well spent ! lol
