I used to work in the fruit machine game and I can tell you that companies will stick fruit machines, pool tables and jukeboxs in for free and just take a % of the takings

I don't know, but I suspect the lack of money-making machines may be a condition of the insurance policy in place since the last break-in. Maybe Brew could enlighten us.

Just a couple of points from an outsider, (slightly in the know.....)

 

FRUIT MACHINES. Great money spinners, BUT check how much your yearly licence will cost first. Can be expensive !

 

IF your footy club registers as an organisation that gives to Charity, Sky will install in your club house for the DOMESTIC rate.

 

(Thats what we did at our local social club)

Big JR - thanks for the tip re Sky installation, I'll keep that in mind. Domestic installation for £1 available on the net..!!

 

As for the fruities, well the gaming licence required is indeed very expensive per machine. The return on them is good, but not brilliant, and over a season would probably just about cover the cost of the licence, given we are not a social club open 7 days a week, so...

 

re the insurance, as has been previously documented by the chairman, the Council's insurance policy becomes invalid if anything is stolen when a break in occurs. Not a condition as such, but a fruity is more of an attraction to break in and steal than pepparami and nuts (although they got taken last time as well..) so at the moment it's a no, but not a never.
