Capital League This Week

Recommended Posts

It's off to Colney Heath on Thursday evening, for a 19:45 kick off.

More of the same as against Enfield 1893, please.

Words going round you townies played half a first team against the 1893 boys , Not exactly being sporting is it ? wink.gif

Yes to a degree, 6 of the players were players who have signed first team forms and played in the First team at some point. But apart from Liam Hope and Richard Morton (only 45 mins) Not one featured in our last two league games, from all the postponments we've that probably stretches back about month.

So what should a club do when players need games for fitness??

Tonight we played Colney Heath with 7 'first teamers' and we lost 0-3, thats beside the point, what's important our youngsters that played benefited with playing with the more experienced players and they in turn got a good run out.

We played Hornchurch and Harlow who had very strong teams out against us this season i.e 'first teamers' and we lost 2-5 and 0-3 respectively but our youngsters enjoyed the challenge and want more of it.

One things for sure we'll have a full first team when we play 1893 in the MCC.

So what is the point of the Capital League if it is not a competition to utilise squad players who need a game to bring peak fitness.

BTW word going round that the digitally challenged are bad losers. Seems to be true dont it.

Just a small point but the Capital league is not a reserve league but a squad league.

I can never see the point of just youngsters in a team as they only learn about playing with those players and when it is mixed with more experienced players of higher level it gives them a chance to learn from the better players.

Bloody hell, 'word is going round about this'. All they way from Brimsdown to the Rosedale. That explains why I can't get a mobile phone signal in Enfield at present. It's obviously such an important topic that everyone is talking about it North London. Look, in case you didn't know it's a midweek squad league where in most cases the players outnumber the supporters. It's hardly our fault if the ETFC squad is stronger than Club 18-93's is it? My advice, get over it.

Off course we whinge. We are "pot hunters" and when we lose we want to know why. But try to see a post when we have complained that we lost because the other side put out a "strong" side. It seems that the digitally challenged are like children, "Daddy, daddy please let me win".

Or perhaps the digitally challenged dont want to play with the "big boys".

Err, we didn't lose that one, the moaning somewhat bizarrely in being led on behalf of Club 18-93 by someone who doesn't seem to support either team.97.gif

OK OK I promise to field a weakened team on Monday, we'll try and lose with an edge of humiliation thrown in as well, how does that sound??????

You field a weakende team and the pot hunters will be after your head.

LOL, i'm still a quick runner.

The team on Monday will be a young youthful and very much reserve team boys, all able and capable but at the mo fall short of being step 4 players, although some have made big strides since September. Hears hoping for a decent game against Redbridge.
