Manish Bhasin

Recommended Posts

Manish Bhasin 'presents' the Football League Show on a Saturday night following Match of the Day, he lives in Bristol and is supposedly a Leicester City fan but what he knows about football can be written on the head of a pin and I've no idea why Bhasin, 33, has was given the show by the BBC so soon after joining in 2004 over far more suitable, knowledgable and capable presenters.

Because the camera likes him, he talks well, and he helps to meet the BBC's target of having ethnic minority representation. When you get "experts" presenting shows, you end up with wooden performers like Alan Sugar!

Horace - Yes but you will remember the Big Match in the 70's with the likes of Derek Dougan, Brian Clough, Malcolm Allison and Paddy Cererand when Brian Moore took a back seat and let them present it, those were the days weren't they.

Not where I lived then they weren't - we got ATV coverage, with the legendary Hugh Johns and that prat Gary Newbon!

He seems to blend into the background quite well and I don't think he is that bad. Amongst the worst has to be the thinking mans village idiot, Big Ron Atkinson, Garth Crook, and Pele.

What a difference on Saturday night with the brilliant Mark Chapman hosting the Football League Show, this seems to be endorsed on numerous message boards, such as the attached, so lets hope the message gets through and he takes over permanantly from the shocking Manish Bhasin:

Terrible news folks, Manish Bhasin is back on the Football League Show tonight after Mark Chapman's brilliant showing last week, it doesn't make any sense to persist with the incompetent Bhasin and I wouldn't mind betting that tonight's viewing figure is half that of last week

Came in last night admittedly after a few drinks but I thought it was Chapman. Actually I can see what you are saying about Manish Bhasin in some ways rhodesy but I don't think Chapman is spectacularly better than him.

As for the Big Match in the 1970s well I seem to recall that the panel you mentioned only came out in the World Cup..otherwise on a Sunday afternoon (after Police 5) it was just Brian Moore and his head looking uncannily like London Planetarium.

Agree with you Horace abot Hugh 'PIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGG' Johns and what a legend he was.

Yes, this was very interesting as Bhasin was definitely down to do the show last night, my guess is that there were so many complaints to the BBC that they made the popular Mark Chapman an eleventh hour replacement

There's no mention anywhere of Manish Bhasin doing the show tonight, my guess is that we won't be seeing him again on the Football League Show

I didn't even watch the Football League Show last night because I knew Bhasin was back, I wonder how many other potential viewers switched off in protest

I always record the FLS, fast forward through the waffle/e-mail crap - just the action. Cuts the show to about 40 minutes!

And I thought it was just me. I too record said programme, especially when the awful Manish geezer is on it.

Emails are a waste of space as is the dozy tart who used to oversee them. Bet she don't know the offside rule....

Bring back Chapman I say. I thought the Beeb reacted to complaints and I bet they have had a few.

Didn't Brand/Ross get the red card after only a handful re granddaughtergate?

At least Chapman is at ease with the job in hand and brings a touch of levity to it the chit-chat.

Rosenior is okay, and I like Claridge. Briing back the Savage when he retires too. Got to like him a lot over

the past year or so.

Do we know whether Bhasin will continue to 'present' the Football League Show on a Saturday night this season following Match of the Day, I pray not

Do we know if Bhasin is doing the Football League Show tonight, I assumed he was last week so didn't bother tuning in even though I wanted to watch the games on the first day of the new campaign, that says it all about him hosting the programme

I see he, sorry, it did the show again last night, I really wanted to watch it especially the Nottingham Forest v Leicester game but I just couldn't bring myself to switch on!
