Aveley 0 Billericay 1

Recommended Posts

A win at last! A well taken goal by substitute Benson in the second half gave us a deserved win in a poor game. It was spoiled near the end when James Lawson, one of our better players, was given a straight red for a foul which I thought barely deserved a booking. Ashley Jones was back in goal ,with Morgan on the bench , and he make a couple of decent saves while at the other end Harrison Chatting had one of his least productive games ,shooting well over the bar when well placed on four or five occasions. Unfortunately Ryan o'Rawe seemed no better than when he played for us before so I was surprised to see Junior Dadson playing for Aveley. Let's hope this win boosts the players confidence and that our play picks up from here.

Agree with the above, a very welcome clean sheet and an even more welcome three points. I'm also surprised we are using O'Rawe out wide - I've only ever seen him play full back or centre-mid before.

We were allowed in the posh bar today for a change. Shame there wasn't any heating though.

We deserved to win today, so well done to the lads for sticking at it. MoTM for me was Flanners but I thought all our senior players showed up well today.

Hopefully, it will be time for six wins on the trot now!!

I was actually considering giving the girls my quid for a win at half time, but then thought that would be just pushing our luck.

I'm glad for both the club and the supporters alike that we got this win and agree with the above post's that it should maybe have been by a few more goals had our target been a few meters lower.

Non the less a win is a win and all credit to Craig and the team for persevering on a boggy pitch.

Lets keep the momentum going to Tuesday for the Essex Senior Cup Quarter Final.

Phil Anderson played No 3. He has been at Thurrock playing left side defence. Has played about 100 games according to their site.

Thought he had a solid game yesterday deputising for Cous.

Although only 1-0 dont think we ever looked liked losing. Ashley looked confident in goal amd I thought Micah had a good game. still need to improve in midfield and in front of goal but promising signs in last 2 games we have started to create more chances.
