Farnham 3 - 0 Westfield.

Official match report and photos from our website.....

Another home win for Farnham Town, at a boggy Memorial Ground without really getting out of second gear against a Westfield side who rarely threatened Joe Brock's goal. The three points keeps Farnham in pole position in Combined Counties One.

In a fairly uneventful start to the match, the first chance of the match didn't come until the 18th minute. Until this point, the quality of football from both sides was far from impressive, but as they have constantly done this season, Farnham sprung to life. Captain Matt Bunyan really should have scored his 7th goal of the season when he broke though and latched onto a cross from the left but he dragged his left footed shot well wide of the goal.

It was then Brock who had to be alert in the 20th minute to block a shot at the feet of the oncoming striker after the Farnham defence had been breached. But again, it was Farnham who looked more likely to break the deadlock and in the 23rd minute Luke Whiddett was played through down the left and he crossed for leading scorer Mark Corbett to finish well with a half volley to give Farnham a lead they probably deserved.

Farnham's confidence grew and soon later, so did their lead. After Joe Sowden won a tackle deep in the Westfield half, the ball broke to maurauding left full-back Ben Williams to calmly lob the keeper from 12 yards out for his 6th of the season and give Farnham a two goal cushion.

HT: Farnham Town 2-0 Westfield

The second half provided more entertainment as Farnham wanted to kill the game searching for a third goal, while Westfield were trying to get a foot hold of the game to try and force their way back into the match. In the 53rd minute Johnny Horner was fouled on the edge of the box as he was trying to collect the ball and turn his man. From the reuslting free-kick Darren Wilson smashed the ball against the cross bar, before it bounced to safety as the Westfield players anxiously looked on.

The third goal did come for Farnham but not until the 77th minute as Rob Webb won the ball deep in the Farnham half, with Neville Tuck burst down the right flank, crossing the ball for Mark Corbett to stab the ball over the line past the Westfield goalkeeper who was scrambling to keep it out.

More goals for a now far superior Farnham side looked on the cards as in the 91st minute Ben Williams struck a shot, that hit the right hand post after her had been policing the edge of the box, then it was Johnny Horner's turn to test the Farnham woodwork as he struck the same post a minute later but both efforts fell to safety and Farnham secured their third clean sheet in four matches to Town boss Tanner's delight. 'We did enough, Westfield didn't really come at us like we thought they might in the second half, but we did well to soak up some pressure before getting the goals we deserved. The players are now playing for their places, as we have a lot of matches coming up in February, and I will need them all match fit with minutes under their belts, so I have got the options I feel we might need in the coming month.'

FT: Farnham Town 3-0 Westfield

Molesey 3 Epsom and Ewell 0

At last I'm back on under a new identity - if the system locks me out again I'll have to come back as symbol . Well the refereeing certainly evened itself out over the two games ! We played a lot better yesterday than in the infamous 2-2 draw in October and the game itself was tight apart from the goals and would have been a lot closer but for two excellent saves from the Molsesy keeper.

The referee was predicted before the game to be card happy and so it proved . He was happy to be the centre of attention and some of his talking to's at bookings resembeled a minor public enquiry. Our left back was very unlucky to be booked for his first foul when both players arrived at the ball a split second apart so to dive in infront of the benches like he did was inviting a second yellow of this ref which he got.

I have said before that there is too much dissent in football in general and certainly with individuals within our team . I have been concerened that this tendency would bite us on the backside at some point . Certainly if a couple of red cards had been produced last week at Chertsey for the way we pursued a penalty claim no-one could have complained _this was still nowhere as bad as the display of ref chasing that Beckenham produced in our recent cup game that went entirely uncarded. For a red to have been produced for a verbal penalty claim and one quiet repeat -yes with a swearword was a massivew overreaction by the ref and killed the game .

So the everything evening itself out over the course of the season cliche has been well proved between Epsom and Molesey this year .

Blue and white. Stef joseph who is by far your best player is ex warlingham along with richard white and young giles. The reason you are gaining momentum is because of your manager who managed these players in his very good warlingham youth side. As for me being honest about my team, I personally dont think you will find. a more honest manager. Nice to see you post after every game and give your honest opinion. As for your cup final wednesday night i would argue that you destroyed us, you won end of. As i said before nice to see to see new posters on here lets just hope they continue to post. Just out of interest what number were you on wednesday night!

Tucks, I think you need to up your game a bit what with all these new Farleigh posters - time to get some more of your boys signed up to the forum! Might get a bit bitchy though ;)

Knaphill 2 - 0 Staines Lammas

J.Willis

E.Cardona

Serious knee injury to Tom Davis just before half-time, Tom was take to hospital and all at Knaphill FC hope he is fit again soon.

Goals in each half from James Wills & Ed Cardona sealed a great win against a hard trying Lammas side who could have taken

their chances and left with a share or all of the points. Anyway a 100% record for Dave & Adie and more points in the bag in our climb

away from the 'drop zone'

Staines Lammas Reserves 1 -2 Knaphill Reserves

Jack Ball & Bradley Faser, two Youth team players, sealed the points fo Knaphill in new Manager Andy Martin's first game in charge.

With the average age of the team under 20, this is a superb advertisement for having a good Youth set-up!

Fair report knapmeister, the difference between the 2 teams was that knaphill had the cutting edge and again we didnt, we had really good chances to grab the win but still we are failing to score. All us at Staines Lammas wish the Lad a speedy recovery, that was the worst sound ive ever heard, I hear it was a snapped knee cap. We wish him well. Also when waiting for the ambulance to come there was 1 min left of the first half and both teams said lets just call it half time and after waiting 10 minutes for the ambulance we were made to come back out for 1 min and then he called half time and we had another break!!!! As for us it looks like another year in div 1 and now look forward to trying to spoil other teams promotion bids and will start the against

our local rivals Bedfont Sports!

Great to hear Ed Cardona back on the score sheet, Cove's loss is Knaphill's gain, also well done to Tog and the reserves.

I havent yet no mate!!

I came on up front for the last 15 mins. Number 16. The old fella!!! Felt your hand firmly in my back as I took the ball on the chest, at that stage of the game there was no choice but to take the freekick, you saw what our lad can do with the kick from our first goal. You weren't best pleased though.
