Enfield Town (1) 4 Moore 20, Hope 60, Osei 73, Wallace 75

Ware (0) 0

Attendance 207

Ware started at a pace but could not keep up their opening momentum. Enfield Town created the better opening chance when Richard Morton ran free into the box but put his shot over. Town then dominated much of the first half, Morton dragging a shot wide then being denied by Ware keeper Obey Murefu. A good run from Murat Karagul threatened, but he lifted his shot over the out rushing Rob Blackburne in the Enfield goal. A good move between former Town players Luke Marshall and Gazmend Dauti ended without threatening, while at the other end Liam Hope was denied by Murefu from close range. Town took the lead when Adam Wallace crossed from the right and Morton’s nod down was swept goalwards by Jon Moore. Murefu managed to block, but only for Moore’s momentum to force the ball home. The Ware keeper then escaped when Andy Jones fired in a free kick that bounced up in front of him, but he managed to deal with it. Further chances went begging for Town, and they nearly paid for it. Rob Blackburne did well to save at the feet of Karagul, and tipped a good strike from Sam Ruff over the bar as Ware got back into the game. Morton could have made things more comfortable just before the break, with a good turn on the edge of the box but struck his shot high.

Ware came out looking to get back on terms in the second half and Ruff headed just wide, before Sam Berry was blocked twice by Craig McKay. Town then struck a second time, Leon Osei putting a good ball to the near post which Liam Hope clipped into the roof of the net. Jon Moore then fired a superb dipping shot from outside the box, only to see it come back off the Ware keeper. A double substitution saw Ware pushing forward but it did not pay off. Half chances for Ryan Wade didn’t come off and shortly after Osei jinked around the Ware box, before firing a thunderbolt past Murefu. Then it was game over two minutes later as Wallace was allowed to turn on the edge of the box and fire low for the fourth. Ware kept trying to get some consolation from the game. Dauti tried an optimistic effort from long range, and Dan Roles made a good run into the box, but could not get past Jordan Lockie. A mad moment at the end saw tempers boiling over and Max Mitchell was shown red, but in truth it was all over long before then.

Good performance from all today... First clean sheet since Worthing at home in the cup... I thought all three of the midfield had great games today in particular Jon Moore whom if he had scored with that volley in the second half it would of been the goal of the season.

Well done to all!!!!

Match highlights on the cold end now including three of the goals (minus Liam's one which i didn't capture)

how did luke play for them> also is that max mitchell? and also they had Gaz on the bench...

Like the rest of the Ware team they played as they are. Like imature youngsters. They put in a lot of effort but flagged as the game progressed and heads went down.

Mat was disappointing as Captain he should have set an example but his foul for when he was sent off was off the ball and similarly a few minutes earlier he had a chop at Bardle.

He is maturing into an aggressive player however he still has the skills which, in my view, are superior to the other ex-enfield lads on the pitch.
