A good win against a battling Hastings side ... but boy did we do it the hard way!

Two good goals from Pinns, the second was a real screamer.

The new lad Tom Bradbrook had a good debut looking to hold the ball up in the centre...I'd still prefer to see Shaun Welford in to centre too, rather than coming down the flank (that's where Rogers should have been).

Thank goodness for that second goal, as Hastings looked likely to steal a goal and that would have been depressing.

It's going to be bl**dy cold on Tuesday against Hendon. I think that the cold along with the lack of publicity for the game will produce our lowest home League attendance this season (roll on the building work at HDP).

Think Iain got the starting line-up bang on today. James Rogers looked comfortable at left wing back. Think with a bit of time he could give us some real options down the wing. Curtis is far better at centre back.

Stubbs had a cracking game in the centre. Pinns seemed to thrive on linking up with the two front men. Gives us more options with the new lad Tom up front as the pressure is eased on Shaun.

Have to say - I think we're probably two players away from being a play-off side. Not going to say which names I'd replace but it looks like we're getting closer. I'll take upper midtable this year, and who knows, maybe there will be a slightly bigger pot of cash next year to improve the squad that little bit to get top 5.

Don't mean to be negative after a win but I still have concerns we have a soft centre - midfield isn't the strongest physically and that's no secret. Against bigger and stronger teams like Hendon it'll be tougher to win the midfield.

No offence meant here Porka but I personally thought James Rogers had a dire game and seemed to sherk most challenges and didnt seem prepared to chase the game. I hate to put the team down after they have won but they really did nt seem to put the effort in today, cos if they did it was so disjointed that it looked laboured and tired. As a team we have a "very" long way to go before being play off potential and an extremely long way off before the football we are playing will encourage people to come back and watch.... 3 points and on the way to securing our place in the prem.

The Good - a vital 3 points which more or less guarantees Ryman Premier football next season and a clean sheet. The Bad - a game devoid of any quality between two poor sides which won't inspire supporters to come back in a hurry but I'll take winning ugly for now! Now we need to push on with another win and hopefully a better performance against Hendon.

I have to agree here about Rogers. Okay he was playing at full back but in the past,in midfield he hasn't shown me anything to rave about either.. I'm sure he can do better though.

3 points today yes, but again as mentioned above, not a performance that might lure people back... BUT it WAS 3 points and it WAS a WIN at HOME & that victory, no matter how it was achieved will surely start the ball rolling, though slowly. Another win on Tuesday night & things will improve even further as regards to improved attendances I'm sure of it, and who knows, two straight wins in a row (at home) might even instill into the players the belief & the confidence to push forward more,to be more aggressive & to entertain.

Hey,in my opinion we certainly won't go down this season & I can't see us being in the play-offs either BUT we do need to have the cash coming through the turnstiles to pay for the players wages. We certainly don't want to fall back into hard times, financially.

3 points won, not gained easily, but it was a win so thats a start. ..... Now for the consistency. Well done all!

Not a pretty game but as others say 3 points.

What I also liked was the referee, in seperate incidents, pulling over Stubbs and Cloke (as captain) and the Hastings No10 and his captain after both of them swore at the ref. He warned them one outburst and the yellow card would follow. At last a ref sticking to the rules.

Won't complain about the win, but, our midfield was overrun they played to far back for the forwards, if Hastings were any other team we would been in trouble. A big plus was the defence, Ball, Cloake and Robinson are as good as any in the league. As it is there will be no grass seed required in the middle, we have no-one capable of controlling the game from that position, hope we have good news at ten.

I felt sure Pinns scored a couple of goals - where did he shoot from? The half-way line?
