Britwell Scheme

The Britwell residents present at the Council Cabinet Meeting on Wednesday had come with leaflets that are obviously being distributed. They question whether some of the statements below might be true...

200 bed hotel on Kennedy Park, shops on KP, 2000 car parking spaces on KP, 10,000 capacity football stadium on KP, gambling casino on KP, new road linking Northborough and Long Furlong Drive etc. The leaflet also asks "why can't Britwell have football pitches, tennis courts and a swimming pool for local residents?"

Many of these statements will have been dispelled last night as we're only at the stage of a feasibility study but that's only if the residents and their elected councillors choose to listen. What is clear is that we need to start putting OUR point of view across and we need to start NOW. The residents have already started their campaign and we need to do the same, not in an adversarial manner against the residents but highlighting the positives that this regeneration will bring to Britwell and how both us and them can benefit from it.

I believe the programme on Saturday will carry a feature regarding what we can do now but if you haven't already written in support then I would urge you to do so at the earliest opportunity to ....
