I have heard a few transfer rumours regarding player movements. This information has been volunteered to me so please do not shoot the messenger. I understand there is some sort of 7 day law and I have no knowledge how far along such transfers are or whether they have even become official. What do other people think?

since most of the people on here are either managers,players and officials who actually fill in the transfer forms then they probably KNOW whos been transferred.

Did you know that any of those transfers were being discussed or even going ahead? Players/Officials and Managers may know what is going on at their club but they won't know what is going on at other peoples.

Not heard anything on Des moving but with Joe Turner getting a few recently, Ben Jones scoring by the bucket, and Liddiard back, i don't see him getting 1st team football.

I think you are a lot closer to the mark with a fringe player ESL Observer. One of our lads has already played for Basildon on a short term loan earlier this year.

thats funny i thought lamar johnson was already registered with Basildon United back in September,i cant see the point of registering him twice that strikes me as a waste of a registration fee but what would i know.

Well, I guess he would have had to be registered to play! Unless Basildon played him as a ringer and now want to do it properly?

You may not take me seriously but who was it that told you Sherwin Stanley would leave Enfield and join Aveley? I believe that was me.

 

As far as I know Lemar Johnson was used by Basildon merely in the absence of their current GK. One of my friends knows the Johnson family. I believe after their (Basildon) current GK was stripped of the captaincy he was unsettled so Basildon have moved to replace him. I got that part from facebook and have subsequently put the pieces together. I am just adding to the speculation from Big Mac. I am not claiming that this factual.

Jerry who no chance Mark! and Stephenson is going nowhere? why should he when he gets £200 a game here.

One area I think the ESL teams should take a closer look at is this years U18s in the EJA. I know a number of teams already have a good number within their ranks and they are flourishing in the ESL. But, I also happen to know that a number of Ryman 1 teams have them playing U18s football only, with the odd reserve game thrown in to keep them interested who probably will not get a sniff for two or three years of first team football. Some R1 teams do not have reserves so its U18s football only for them. Get them out on loan for that period at your club, everyones a winner. Just food for thought!

You're spot on there Detective, the only thing is; there are a lot of ESL managers who would much rather stick to tried and tested players at ESL level aged 23/24 and up than give some of the more talented youngsters from a higher level a chance. And sadly most of these older players are not better footballers than the youngsters from Ryman 1 and Prem clubs; but becasue they've been about at that level for a while, managers will take them.

 

We have had young forward Tom Hollingsworth from our Under 18's spend time on loan with Southend Manor this season and it has aided his development no end. He is now frequently involved in our Ryman Prem match-day squads, and this is in no small part to the benefit of going and playing senior 1st team football.
