Nuts 250 is the best around

I was walking my dog yesterday in Bedfont and popped into Bedfont Town and I could not believe how nice the pitch is there now.

The last time I was there the pitch was bumpy and in pre season it looked like there was a tree growing out of it. I spoke to a guy there and he said that Steve Honey was the grounds man and that the pitch has been nominated for a FA Award.

I know Steve does the Lammas home pitch and that has won awards as well, yet when I spoke to Steve last week he said he has a shortage of work and is looking for more clubs, which surprises me as surely if your pitch is looked after by a professional like Steve then games are less likely to be called off.

Nut would not give anybody £5 lol!

I just think it's a shame that clubs don't have decent pitches especially when a lot of clubs have the equipment but not the know how.

I dont think he's that expensive either, some pitches in CCL have the potential to be quality pitches, Chertsey, Egham, Sheerwater, Bedfont Sports, Farnham, Guildford, Ash are just a few clubs that I think with Nuts expertise could massively improve the playing surface.

I'm not knocking the above clubs groundsman by the way, I'm just saying that Nut is the best around.

You can Cobham to that list. IMO if it wasn't for the sheer volume of matches played on it, then the surface could/would be greatly improved and be up there as one of the better ones.

cheers ellers . i try my best with what im given , bedfont is looking really good the chairman/club spent a few quid during the summer which helps ,

although if you gone there yesterday it resembled a swimming pool rather than a football pitch , but drains well so should be ok ,

its hard for clubs to justify spending money on there pitches especially in these hard times , im lucky qpr keep me busy and i have just taken on london wasps rfc training ground in acton which should test my skills to the limit :) ,

always here to help and offer advice to any club that needs it , although im in the btk league now always offer good prices to ccl clubs as thats were im from and i dont forget that ,

also smudge if i get any work out of ellers post i will gladly pay his fiver gold membership ;) .

ellers brown envelope on its way to you
