Taken in isolation, yestedays game wasn't the walkover for Tonbridge that the scoreline suggests. Difference being they managed to convert their few chances whereas we failed to capitalise on the many occasions we threatened their goal, other than H's great goal.

We seem to play some nice attacking football in the middle third but are leaking goals at the back and have nobody up front who you consider odds on to score when presented with the opportunity.

Problem is we are running out of time to get it right & a string of league defeats does nothing for the confidence & moral.

I enjoy the football we're playing but we urgently need to find those last couple of pieces of the jig-saw.

I disagree Rick. Tonbridge outworked us and deserved their win. We had three or four players who walked off that pitch who you would never have known had taken part in 90 minutes on a muddy surface.

Their first goal was very well taken but from our point of view their other two goals were terrible. Letting someone run 60 yards unchallenged and completely failing to defend a free-kick is basic stuff and experienced defenders should do miles better.

The only redeeming feature of our football at the moment is H, who is blossoming into a fine player at this level - Some of the others should be looking at him and feel embarrassed at their own (lack of) performance.

We had a good spell for about 15/20 minutes after we scored but that's just not good enough.

Tonbridge charge more than us to get in, more at the bar than we do, yet managed to get a 520+ crowd. I wish I knew the answer to that one.....

We need to do better. Let's hope we can start on Tuesday.

We had plenty of possession but up until the goal created very little, if anything with it. Great finish from H for the goal and we had opportunities to level after that.

But the most worrying aspect was the two shockingly soft goals conceded. Since the enforced lay off the defence seems to be getting breached almost at will.

A point would have been undeserved but we need to start picking some up pronto, starting on Tuesday.

I thought we were looking good for a deserved point when pressing for the equaliser at 2-1. Away from home to a team a good few places above us? I don't think. if we'd done it, it would have been undeserved.

The number of goals we're conceding is really worrying though. Don't think it's entirely the back four that are at fault. We seem naive/lacklustre when defending in many areas of the pitch, including one or two players who are lauded for their efforts when pushing forward.

When I read the non-league paper I was pleased they, like me, thought is was a good entertaining game..

Losing is never nice, but the positives were we played some good footbal, and the team put in a shift, Not everyone was at their best, but they worked hard which is pleasing.

It was nice to Ryan back in a blue shirt, and I thought he did very well. And if anyone thinks there is little difference between the Premier and Div 1, have a chat with Ryan. His first comment after comming off was " I'd forgotton how much quicker it is at this level"

I think we all know that Craig means what he say's, so for him to include a couple of Billericay Players in his non-league dream team is praise indeed. We may not be at our best yet, but I think we have a bright future.:brille008:

To be fair to the lads on an other day and those shots that drifted wide or just over would have gone in. We just seem to not be getting the run of the ball of late.

Frustrating as it is to loose to the falling angels i thought we had a good shout for a point away from home, but sadly it was not going to happen once the diving started.

I wish i had bought one of their out of date programmes now. cheesy%20(2).gif

Come on you BLUES

Ahhh...guys, I was quietly reflecting....

TBH, the feeling I had of the game afterwards was one of deflation but on reflection, two mistakes by our defence and Tonbridge took their chances...

Their defence made mistakes, of which we took one chance. Their keeper pulled off a good save. Were we poor for the full ninety? Nope, in fact the first half (apart from the second goal - the first was a great strike from nowhere - any team could've scored it - no complaints about that one), we looked about even. The first half was played quite slowly, it was difficult for me to decide if who was the better side of the two

Concerned that our defence, which was once the celebration of last year has leaked goals but is that because we're playing a more attacking style? Last season we were the third most "boring" team in the country...least goals conceded, least goals scored...The reason behind that was that we offered very little in attacking options last season.

We need another striker but good ones don't come cheap, so we have to rely on what we have got. We have got to start buying a ticket in front of goal to take the pressure off the defence... If you don't take the chance, you don't score goals, the pressure then transfers to the back four. We had plenty of opportunities on Saturday but wanted to play through their defence (how many times did someone shout "shoot"...)...and gave them the opportunity to get players around the ball. I don't think there are many of us that would be disapointed if we had a go from distance or at least around the box...

Hopefully (if the game is on tonight), we'll take those chances and get those three points
