London APSA details req

Recommended Posts

Hi

I'm a Scarborough Athletic fan based in North West London. I like to get to different grounds and games and last week thoroughly enjoyed the action at Barking v Basildon and then Bethnal Green v Witham.

I notice London APSA are scheduled to be at home v Southend Manor next Thursday. What are the facilities like at the Terence McMillan Stadium. Is there a bar or tea hut or is it best to be fed and watered before turning up?

Thanks in advance.

No bar im afraid or hot food but the sports centre where the ground is based is two minutes from a parade of shops, running track around pitch.

I'm glad that you enjoyed your trip to Barking FC. We enjoyed the game as well. We are always pleased to receive visitors at our modest admission fee. Good luck in your future travels -I hope that you can find a game to watch. When I were a lad we played in mud up to our necks and now these young referees don't like to get their boots wet. Best wishes from The Sandal Vandal .

It was the first time I had seen Barking in action since a pre season game in 1977 at The Athletic Ground Scarborough which we won 5-0. I can only guess The Blues were on a tour of some kind? I know Barking were a prominent club down here at the time and we'd just lifted the FA Trophy for the third time against Dagenham at Wembley.

The only disappointment at Mayesbrook Park was the clubhouse been closed. Apart from that I enjoyed everything about it.
