Wanted: Reserve Team Coach / Manager

Old Headingley AFC

Old Headingley AFC are a successful amateur team in the West Yorkshire League. Our first team play in Division 2 and our reserves in the Alliance Division 1. Above the West Yorkshire League is Northern Counties, the first league on the Semi-Pro ladder. We are looking for a enthusiastic coach/manager to take charge of our developing reserve team. Since the formation of the reserves in 2006, the Old Headingley second team has successfully provided backup to the firsts whilst also offering returning injured players and trialists an environment to get football under the eye of the first team. At the same time the reserves have always had their own agenda for success, which resulted in the first trophy for the second team last year when we picked up the West Yorkshire League Alliance Division Two winners trophy.

The reserve team is extremely important to the progression of the first team, and hence the reserve team manager is an extremely important role. Ideally the reserve team boss will have a minimum of 1st4Sport Level 1 coaching badge, preferably Level 2. Anything higher would be welcomed. Not only are we looking for someone to work alongside the first team manager in creating a harmonious coaching environment throughout the club, but if possible we would be looking for the successful applicant to also bring his own style of coaching and his own ideas to the table. Old Headingley have worked hard to ensure that both the firsts and the seconds receive the same level of coaching, the same tactics, the same formations and the same drills, and we would like this to continue with the new boss, so coaching experience is a necessity.

To summarise we are looking for a bright and motivated manager of any age to come and be a part of a progressive and exciting club. We have many exciting ideas and plans for our club in the pipeline, of which you could be a part of. The club as a whole are always looking to improve, and we have had great success over the last, and our first, ten seasons. In order for this to continue we need the right people on the pitch, in the dressing room and in the committee. If you are interested in getting involved with Old Headingley, please contact Chris Burns on chris.burns1@sky.com.
