How are Clubs surviving in Hard times.

With this current poor weather decimating fixtures, which in turn affects Bar takings and sundry streams of income. How can Clubs survive,Sittingbourne announced that they are to stop paying Players, and could be out of business by the Summer.Whyteleafe are not paying their Players either,is this a trend that will filter down to c.c.l. for it to survive.Against that Wayne Bridge, signs for the Hammers for £90k a week.MADNESS

Whilst our club finances are very well managed I'll readily admit and i'm sure i speak on behalf of other clubs as well when i say we do miss the revenue from the bar which has dipped over the last 6 weeks.Clubs like Molesey Ash etc are fortunate that their bar is open 7 days a week.

Solution is simple though when the action returns - encourage the players to drink more!

Sorry Smudge but who would come on this open forum to discuss that their club is struggling and not paying their players anymore!? Good selling point!

Corinthian Casuals,do not seem to struggle to survive by not paying their Players, which is well known, with a little help from their Friends.

I think you will find that most teams in the CCL don't pay anymore there is probably only a handful that do,I have been out of work recently and have been looking for work ( any work ) and i can honestly say that the money isn't there, any player that is getting paid at this moment in time is very lucky indeed

ANIMAL, IT DEPENDS IF THE FOOTBALL CLUB HAS A SOCIAL SIDE TO HELP SUBSIDISE THE FOOTBALL. MANY YEARS AGO, BEDFONT HAD A GOOD SOCIAL SIDE WHICH ASSISTED THE FOOTBALL, BUT EVENTUALLY I THINK DUE TO OTHERS REASONS THE MONEY HAD TO BE USED ELSEWHERE, SO COULDN'T HELP THE FOOTBALL HENCE THEIR DEMISE. PERHAPS SOMEONE CAN ELABORATE MORE IF MY COMMENTS ARE INCORRECT.

I BELIEVE ONE OF THE MOST PROFITABLE CLUBS ARE WORCESTER PARK. THEY HAVE A FANTASTIC SOCIAL SIDE BUT I AM NOT TOO SURE IF SOME OF THE SOCIAL PROFITS ARE PLOUGHED INTO THE FOOTBALL SIDE OF THE CLUB, BUT THAT'S WHAT'S NEEDED TO HELP FUND A FOOTBALL CLUB NOWADAYS.

A HARD WORKING SOCIAL COMMITTEE TO ARRANGE EVENTS AT THE CLUB TO HELP COMMISSION THE CLUB AS WELL AS ITS FOOTBALL IS NEEDED, AND A GOOD COMMERCIAL PERSON TO TRY AND OBTAIN SPONSORSHIP, ARE SOME FORM OF INGREDIENTS THATS REQUIRED TO SURVIVE..

A FOOTBALL CLUB ''ALONE'' NEEDS TO FIND OTHER WAYS TO RAISE FUNDS BECAUSE OPENING JUST ON TUESDAY, THURSDAY & SATURDAY (FOOTBALL DAYS - MAYBE SUNDAY) WILL FIND IT VERY HARD TO SURVIVE.

A GOOD WELL RUN CLUB WILL, WITH HARD WORKERS, SURVIVE BUT ONE MUST REMEMBER, MOST CLUBS AT CCL LEVEL HAVE ONLY VOLUNTEERS SO DONT ALWAYS HAVE THE TIME AVAILABLE TO APPLY THEMSELVES FULLY, SO IT'S A MERRY-GO-ROUND.

IDEA ! .... .BUT IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN? IF EVERY CLUB (IN EACH DIVISION) HOLDS ONE EVENT, AND IT WAS AGREED THAT ALL THE OTHER LEAGUE CLUBS PLAYERS, COMMITTEE, MEMBERS AND SUPPORTERS ATTENDED THE EVENT, THEN ALL CCL CLUBS WILL HELP EACH OTHER WITH MUCH NEEDED FUNDS ?.

.

IRRESPECTIVE, THESE ARE HARD TIMES, UNLESS A SUGAR DADDY TURNS UP WHICH WE ALL KNOW CAN GO T*TS UP IF HE/THEY DECIDE TO PACK IT IN AND WALK AWAY. SO UNLESS A CLUB HAS A GOOD SOCIAL SIDE TO HELP THE FOOTBALL, IT WILL BECOME A STRUGGLE I'M AFRAID..........

what the out goings for a club? anyone know how roughly floodlights cost to run? Refs? do u have to pay to be in the league. we had to pay 15000 to groundshare with ashford town for 2 seasons and luckily we have 2 chairmans who are reasonably wealthy, but for other clubs who maybe want to do the same, where are they supposed to get that sort of money from loan? is this too much or is it cheap!!
