Godalming & Guildford

Form is nothing to go on...

G&G currently have the worst record in their division (Combined Counties (aka Seagrave Haulage) League - Premier Division):

Played 5, Lost 4, Draw 1 (0-0)

Goals For = 4 Against = 14 (GD = -10)

Currently 24/24 with 1 point

And yet they beat Molesey (two divs above them) 2-1 in the prelim. round of the FA Cup, and on 9th Sept beat local rivals AFC Guildford (from div below) 2-0 in Premier Challenge Cup.

The local rag reported that their main striker would be unavailable for several weeks through injury.

They seem to be able to raise their game for cup matches, and they are not used to playing in front of crowds (att. 55 at home last Sat.)

So, following the Rebel's performance last night, next Saturday could be anything between a goal-fest and abject humiliation!

Any thoughts?

[PS - despite living in Guildford, I have never seen G.&G. or AFC G. play - indeed, I didn't know WHERE they played, as Guildford is not exactly awash with football stadia!]
