Detective Work Part 6

Recommended Posts

Hi Sorry, That is a really interesting piece of information. The managerial merry go round continues. I heard mumblins of unrest at Brentwood Town a while ago. There are a few ex Brentwood Town players within the Aveley ranks and I over heard some conversations in the bar. So with the Brentwood Manager relieved of his duties I have been investigating who is in line to replace him. The obvious candidate would come from within, a chap called Steve Witherspoon. I was told he used to be the manager there and could potentitally step into the breach for the short/long term. I understand Brentwood have a war chest waiting to be unveiled which may interest the current Romford FC manager Paul Martin. He could take his whole Romford squad over with him and pay them all double. The recently unemployted Wayne Bond probably won't be considered due to his under achievement with Heybridge Swifts. Looking to the Essex Senior League you would have to be looking at the Stansted Manager Darran George as a potential candidate. He has worked wonders with a shoe string budget and may be tempted to guarantee a solid Ryman league job. Desptite this my gut instinct would be that he sees it through at Stansted. I bet the ex Aveley management team would be interested and I think they could do a really good job at this level so my fingers will be crossed for them, it would be great to see them back in football. I will keep a close eye on developments and update.

I know it is sorry news for the managers who have lost their jobs, Mr Bond and Mr Whitton. But isn't it exciting from a neutral point of view? Who will get the job? Will they be a current manager? Who will replace a current manager? All great fun unless you are those two people I think.

I love the under dog stories. A little guy that gets the big job and makes it work. Hopefully a lower league manager gets their chance.

Has anyone else got any inside information?

You idiot, Paul Martin (Magic) has blue and gold blood running through his veins and if he ever even considered leaving Romford I would imagine it would be for a far bigger club than Brentwood.

You Romford supporters are dillusional if you think "Magic" (as you call him) wouldn't be interested in a sideways move to Brentwood. The longer term prospects of Brentwood are far superior to the once great Romford. You Romford fans will never change, I hated you in the 70's and 80's and I still hate you now. So far up your own backsides to think anyone would ever want to move fro your precious club to a club with less history. Let me tell you what has gone on in the past is done now. Romford FC will perish eventually and you foolhardy supporters will be left to eat your words.

Mark, I have a prediction for you. Your periodic predictions are enjoyed by the majority of forum users and seen as a nice bit of light entertainment by most. You occasionally get a bite and when you do, it always seems to turn rather nasty. We don't like that side of you. I predict this shortly will end, again, in apologies and tears! Stick to entertaining.........

Seriously,

How many of your predictions have so far come true? I have lost track recently and would genuinely like to know.

Thanks.....

Detective, my posts are never in a nasty nature. Your man misundestood labelled me an idiot so I vented my ongoing hate for Romford FC. Sorry I feel like that, but I just do. As for you sir, you have a lot to say for someone relatively new to this forum. 9 posts so far and you are, somehow, qualified to a)decide my future and b)dicate to me. I THINK NOT.

I do not "predict". I spread rumours. There is a difference.

I'm slightly confused as to why you would have hated us in the 80s as we didn't even have a club then. I would also be interested to know when you expect the men in white coats to take you away again.

I really don't need this today.

Misunderstood, I hated the way Romford fans moaned about the loss off their "mighty" club. I lived in Romford with my first wife back then. I preferred the ice skating rink anyway. I was horrified the day I read about Romford FC making a comeback.

It's nice to be on first name terms with you "Keith". The Detective aggravates me. He gets under my skin. I have had a poor nights sleep so easily annoyed today. I wouldn't mind but he does not come on here to post about anything except me. It is almost as if someone has created an account simply to needle me. We don't know which club he has allegience with, who he is, where he is from. I am not asking for him to complete an application form but at least identify which club you are involved with or support!

My name is Mark, I am an Aveley FC fan predominantly but I also follow East Thurrock, Canvey, Tilbury, Grays and more recently Bowers and Pitsea.

Does anyone have any information regarding the Brentwood Town managers job? Or Heybridge FC? I hope Brentwood do not come knocking on Aveley's door for Carl Griffiths, he seems to have amde a solid start.

"Keith", I will only believe it when I am standing in a bar with you holding a pint. You mentioned that user CLIVE PETER DAY is not who they say they are, and went as far as to insinuate it was me. So if you feel like that how do you expect me to be sure you are Keith. Sorry if this sounds petty, I am just making a point.
