Evening KOs at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium

When Town move into the Queen Elizabeth Stadium will the evening kick-offs change from Tuesdays to Wednesdays? Trent Park Running Club do their track training sessions on Tuesday evenings at the stadium and I doubt they've got much flexibility to change their night once the Towners move in.

If we are the main user then I would say it's up to us which night is used but we need to take many things into account before decissions are made.

All depends what is in the terms of reference as to who has prioirty. Maybe the runners could act as ball boys whilst going round the track!

In terms of people using the stadium the liklihood is that the athletics club will be the venues 'main user'. There were more than 100 runners there tonight and the athletics club use the stadium at least once a week, every week of the year!

 

The stadium and running track is looking really impressive but it's a shame too see that the lower seated terrace has been removed to make way for the long jump.

I'm ok for ETFC to play on a Wds as Spurs and Arsenal usually play mid week league and cup matches on a Tuesday. At the same time we need to discuss sensibly the priority usage of the stadium (and i'm sure we will) as keeping those Athletes and their club on our side will encourage the use of our other facilities such as the Cafeteria and the bar which will be ours.

 

Having regular steady custom on each day is a very healthy business module. We must open our arm's and welcome as much use of our grounds that will help us financially as well.

And if we want to play football there are many pitches in the park we can use. It's not as simple as that, I'm afraid. We need to be open and friendly, the last thing we need once we move in is negative publicity from organisations that are already in situ.

Surely it will be a MULTI SPORTS complex, and as such the 100 + athletes need to be accomodated, but I'm sure both sides will take a mature attitude to the situation
