Attendances

Look at the attendances - All the teams doing better have increased attendances while we are stuck in 11th place well off the pace, non-leauge football is a fickle game, let's be honest most supporters are floating anyway!

Bob Dowie's season we were top-ish around christmas then he left and Kevin Mudd took over, finished awful and was sacked a couple of weeks into September as we were well off the pace

Robbo and Cookies season we were top-ish around christmas the one left and Cookie took over, finsished awful and ...... complete as applicable

No doubt EFM will be blamed

Tony,

I go as often as I can. As you may or may not know I work shifts which means I work 1 weekend of days and one weekend of nights plus one Tuesday night a month. Needless to say I can't make alot of games.

I will however be watching the reserves this coming Saturday as I am working nights (I start shift at 5:30PM so can't watch the Bedford game).

Hope that answers your question

The attendance issue is a real dilemma for the club, unless the team is winning, pressing for the top, and playing consistently well with the promise of progress then attendances will be poor.....its great to have team spirit and locals in the side but in the end money counts, and this is where the cycle begins....John Gibson has saved the club and deserves massive respect for that but the next stage is difficult and although the club needs the city to support it in great numbers (isn't 600 plus the target for attendances ? )this present side in this present league is going to struggle to attract big crowds....but as i have wondered before perhaps we are in a holding pattern for this season ? I could understand that with all the league restructuring going on and stronger clubs like Canvey likely to get the Conference slot but if we don't end up in the new Conference South we will be in trouble all over again....

Webbo may miss a fair few games, but I reckon if you made a list of everyone who went to see City last year and how many games they went to, Webbo would easily get into the top 5%. He is well above average when it comes to attending games.

It's the floaters and those that have a passing interest that need encouraging to come in. And everyone knows my views on why they don't.

The point I'm trying to make is, the Webbo is not one of the people that the clubs needs to be attract to games.

Webbo supports St Albans, and comes to all the games he is able to.

The people who need encouraging are those who DON'T go to games. The floaters. The ones who are 'sort-of interested' but never get round to it for one reason or another.

I thought it was a fiver...

cheers Colin

One thing that I seriously think the club should address is admission to the ground.

I'm happy to pay the £8 BUT admission for children should be much lower.

Again and again I speak to people with children that might go to see City but are put off by paying so much for kids.

I know this has been brought up so many times but it's about time the club reacted.

More kids = more parents = more sweets, fizzy pop, crisps, burgers being bought. More stuff sold in the club shop = more money.

If Dad took 2 kids and say it was £1 for kids...

£10 to get in - doesn't seem too bad

He then hasn't a problem buying a couple of cans of coke, a burger or two, a raffle ticket, a programme, maybe a replica top for Jonny.

BUT the thought of paying £18 to get in just puts people off....
