How would..........

you like it if someone at work called you a f.....g c...? What would you do about it? Complain and take out a grievance?

Why should supporters of this 'fans owned club' have to listen to this foul language from at least one of our so called supporters on a regular basis? What does this person think he is achieving by bringing this club down to his level? Isn't it about time the 'club' did something about it, especially as we are constantly striving to bring new people to our games. How would the coaches of the youth teams feel if they brought their young people and their parents to their first game and they heard such foul and abusive language? Would they want to come back? I doubt it.

Not a good advert for this club.

No doubt some people will feel that it's a sign of the times and the foul language is acceptable. However, it shouldn't be tolerated for the good of the club. What will happen, anything or nothing?

Beaten by a quality side yesterday? Yes. Underachieved? Yes.

The referees fault for everything/our loss? Of course not.

Andy, I couldn't agree with you more.

I don't who this individual or so called supporter is, but I do recall travelling up for an evening match at Goldsdown Road, when the referee stopped the game and went to speak to someone who was ranting , raving and continually shouting expletives at the official, everytime a decision went against us. It's not the same person is it? Embarrassing for the club? Definitely.

I'll have a word with my 12 year old, I've told him again and..............................................................................Sorry, I agree totally too, I agree with MFM too, that all club's have them.

One non expensive way to discourage it is to tell Mr.Public Address system to announce to everyone collectively not to shout out foul and abusive language during the game or indeed at anytime around the ground. I standardly written message at every home game I think would suffice. This would be a first step and would also portray us in a good light with new comers watching for the first time. Just a thought.

We did have a draft supporters' charter once and as the majority, and a good majority at that, of supporters don't use foul and abusive language directed at officials, then it would appear that most people are already adhering to it.

Littlehampton.

I don't think it would be wise to 'out' someone. They know who they are and I do hope, for the sake of the club, that some form of action is taken, even if it meansthe board having a 'loud' word in his ear.

No doubt someone somewhere will moan about me but at least I am not papering over the cracks or airbrushing the truth.

Andy, only joking! Think everyone knows who it is anyway. Believe you have done the right thing in highlighting the problem.
