Blues v Kingstonian today

With the pitch so wet and cutting up badly this was never going to allow for good football. Very poor game not helped by a diabolical referee who made some very odd decisions (to put it mildly). We were flattered by the result against a well organised Kingstonian side and could probably have played until midnight and never scored a goal.

Harrison showed a lot of effort and Cuz had his normal excellent game apart from hsi blunder that led to the goal. Midfield and forwards were pretty anonymous.

The team looked pretty dispirited throughout and the management need to show their worth now to stop this run of defeats and get the morale up. Our league position is much better than last year so come on lads, relax a bit and play with a smile on your faces and entertain us for a change.

Good summary richard.

Obviously the squad is depleted at the moment and after Craig Edward's comments in the local press, we don't know how many were playing with illness or injury. First half we could have been 3 down before the break but afterwards we matched them without creating many chances.

Despite the unfortunate mistake, Cousins was my MOM, just behind the referee, who like the pitch.deteriorated as the game went on. He seemed totally unable to make consistent decisions on the sliding tackle or play acting. I am appalled at the way the standard of refereeing has declined at this level over the last 10 years and I am not surprised that our players were totally frustrated by his performance.

Onwards and upwards boys !!!!

Bit of a poor performance for various reasons however, thoroughly enjoyed the day, my Oz brother-in-law and nephew had a great time watching local football and meeting the supporters, players and management, truly an enjoyable experience, he even got to have a glass of wine with Craig, unfortunately courtesy of Craig !!!! My heart sank when I saw the ref warming up remembering his previous poor performances at New Lodge. I have to say that he surpassed his poor record on this occasion. It is such a shame that referees and linesmen can't see, or choose to ignore, the play acting and cheating apart from the blatant fouls that go unpunished. The ref totally spoiled the game for me.

Chins up lads, let's see a win in the Essex Senior Cup Tuesday as a confidence booster, you can do it!

I agree the ref was not the best , however he is the same ref for both teams and personally for me the most disappointing aspect was that i do believe we did not have a solitary shot on target and their keeper only landed on the floor twice in the whole game and that was coming for crosses. That to me is the most worrying point . We seem to have lost our way somewhat , and presume confidence is at a low . We have not become a poor team we just need the lads to believe in themselves a little more again and for everyone to go out there in tandem and work as hard as they can . I then believe the results will start to come back our way again . But everyone has to buy into this for it to work.

Harrison for me was tireless in his running and on the times we did throw the ball into the area it always fell onto a unchallenged Kingstonian head .

I do believe this team is capable of far more industry and with the right endeavour those results will come back again - but the players need to believe that.

Both teams suffered with the heavy conditions , and this will probably be a recurring theme for most teams over the next few weeks .

Come on Town , start believing in yourselves again ! you can start winning games as there is enough in that team to make it happen :)

Another tough game Tuesday , lets start there
