Abusing Officials and Own Players

Twist&Shout

Recommended Posts

Jamie Turner had an outstanding game today but was disgraceful swearing at the linesman....I know all you fans behind the goal were outraged by the yellow he got, people were saying the linesman and ref didnt know what they were doing...but they done the right thing....Turner calling the linesman a f*****g p***k, over and over deserved the yellow if not a red...so anyone who disagrees with that is just being biased..

And as for the players today!! what a disgrace!!! 'curtis, get up and f*****g run it off'.......'stop being a f*****g p***k'.........'you pansy'....'you f*****g numpty'........

Well done lads!!! Great Enocuragement! Great way to get back into the game by swearing and arguing!

How about you stop arguing and swearing and getting annoyed and concentrate on the game instead of whinging and moaning

Agree with you with you there GA, there doesnt seem the team spirit at the moment either

As a Fan (part time) there seems very little atmosphere anymore, what happened to us abusing the officials and oppo players, the singing, the banter and the drumming

Very disappointed today. Ian must be pulling his hair out

The dumbing down brigade have got what they wanted. The drum wasn't wanted. Banter was always treated with caution by the officials in case someone 'overstepped the mark' by swearing. Bit by bit, people have got bored of it all and drifted away. We're left with no atmosphere. Knew it'd happen eventually.

Well I miss it,

The ground didn't seem full of families, so maybe lets go back to how it was and create a family Friendly area for families with small kids, that way we can get behind the team, show the opposition thats hartsdown is a hard place to visit and that way win or lose I would come next time to have a bloody good time

Quick Edit, Plus I can swear my head off if I want to

No wonder Jay wants out - what a load of S****! To lose twice to the bottom team is inexcusable. If we lose on Monday we are in serious trouble.

Just a bad hickup lads. You have the points, so I think you're safe from danger. Would be nice though to play you in the same league. Should get some good gates then

Regarding swearing there was a FA directive warning players about their language but it is down to the ref.

He should tell the players before the game about their language, warn them once after the game starts and on the second time issue a card for foul and abusive language followed by a second yellow and red if the player does it again.

It might be a mans game but the language does not need to go gutter level

What a load of fuss over nothing. At a proper football club the officials would have been left fearing for their safety after what happened today. If someone like me, half-cut and myopic, can see that Welford's header was a country mile over the line, how didn't they? That was an absolutely key moment in the game.

Too right CE. The ineptness of the linesman on that decision was outrageous. I was amazed we ended up with 11 men as temperatures were rising. As for abuse he got away with a few shouts of outrageous indignation. very British.

I dont agree that the ball was over the line..if u look at the angle the ball went at after Mitten saved it theres no way that would of happened if it was in..it simply would of pushed into the side of the net...its clear it wasnt in

Thats my opinion of course..maybe i was at a bad angle though...???

My granny couldve seen that the ball was over the line and Charlie even said after in the bar it "could" have been - classic bad officials in this league strike again. After the performance Croydon put in (no 15 looked useful) they might just pull something out of the bag come the end of the season, lets just hope it isnt at OUR exspense......

An additional note regarding the swearing at the match and all games in general.

As a supporter I do not like to hear the excessive amount of bad language coming from the players. It IS unnecessary, does nothing to endear the players to the fans and as previously stated IS against FA rules

I also dont like excessive bad language coming from supporters either, however whist the actions of the fans can and has been dealt with through action by the club and more importantly by the fans themselves there is a line of demarcation where the club cannot act.

The club, Keith, Ken, Cliff, Peter or any of the stewards CANNOT enter the field of play to stop the players action UNLESS and ONLY if invited by the referee.

Maybe the club could request the players rein in their swearing.........I very much doubt it would effect their passion in a match but I very much doubt the players woud heed the request.

I am sure the officials of the club feel the same way as most of us in that all the hard work done to eradicate foul language from the terraces is being undone by players lack of restraint.

Only one person can and should stop it and that is the referee and I have only seen one at Rymans level have the guts to use the FA ruling he has at his disposal. Maybe a few letters to the Rymans League asking them to act might result in more referees taking action.

I agree with what you say about the players, but not the fans

I bet teams love coming to play at margate, no grief from the fans whatsever , they get no hassle, no songs taunting them, nothing

Pagey you can go to a game and not have to resort to swearing.

The choir in the 70s were able to give and receive banter from oppostion fans without the use of a swear word plus abuse the ref again without swearing

Someone posted on the forum about the likes of Bob Harrop and their language on the pitch but I am sure it was not every other word like some of the players are doing now
