AS USUAL TRS GREAT VIDEO OF THE GAME. GOOD ATMOSPHERE YESTERDAY AT ALWYNS LANE CREATED BY BOTH SETS OF SUPPORTERS ALTHO' THE YOUNGSTERS OF CHERTSEY WHERE VERBALLY ABUSIVE TO THE MOLESEY SUPPORTERS.............YOUNGSTERS EH !

 

I WAS THERE YESTERDAY, NOT A BAD GAME. I THOUGHT CHERTSEY CAME OUT OF THE BLOCKS QUICKER THAN MOLESEY AND HAD MOST OF THE POSSESSION IN THE FIRST 25-30 MINS, BUT WHEN MOLESEY SCORED IT LOOKED AS THO' CHERTSEYS HEAD DROPPED AND PLAYERS STARTED ARGUING WITH EACH OTHER, FROM THEREON MOLESEY BOSSED THE GAME AND TO BE HONEST SHOULD HAVE HAD 5-6 GOALS ! MOLESEY DESERVED WINNERS WHICH I DOUBT EVEN CHERTSEYTOWN COULD NOT DENY.

 

WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM HIM WITH HIS RUN DOWN ON THE GAME.

 

I WONDER IF MONDAYS AND YESTERDAYS DEFEATS HAS BLOWN CHERTSEYS CHANCES TO BE CHAMPIONS ? REMEMBER THOUGH THERES STILL ALONG WAY TO GO AND MORE TWISTS AND TURNS ALONG THE WAY ? ANY COMMENTS ?

Spot on for once NICEGUY. We were by far the better team for first 30 minutes and hit the bar and had a perfectly on side goal disallowed and had only counter attacks to deal with but goals change games and the first goal was a defensive disaster and Molesey took complete control and we were very lucky to be only one nil down at the break. We started the second half brightly again and for the first 15 minutes or so had a few chances as the tape shows but as we didnt score frustration took over and Molesey were always very dangerous on the counter attack with very lively forwards. The second killer goal was taken very well although again we contributed to our own destruction. We made a game of it by scoring with ten left and had a couple of half chances but it would have been an undeserved point and Molesey were fully deserved winners and played almost the perfect away performance by defending well at the start of each half and being very dangerous on the counter attack. Our young team realy showed its lack of experience and vital injuries haven't helped but that's no excuse as we are better than that performance and 2011 hasn't started well. The seasons only half done and with the strength of the top eight or so sides there is a very long way to go but we need to get on a run like Molesey or very soon or our season is going to be over

i take it that chertsey are the bigges spenders in the league , just seems odd that they are clearly not doing something right as season after season they are favourites and start well then drop off

For the record we are no where near the biggest spenders and our spend continues to fall by bringing in younger players , our oldest player is 26 and on Sat we had 5 teenagers in our starting line up alone. We still pay good money out though and need to perform better, along way still to go......

INTERESTING CHERTSEYTOWN, A VERY HONEST RESPONSE. I THINK YOUR ATTACKING ABILITY IS FINE, 2 GOOD WIDE PLAYERS AND NO. 9 WERE DECENT HOWEVER, PERSONALLY I BELIEVE YOUR TEAM WERE OUTWORKED BY A VERY FIT AND WORKMANLIKE MOLESEY TEAM, I CAN SEE WHY THEY ARE TITLE CONTENDERS, THEY WORK FOR EACH OTHER, THEIR 2 WIDE LADS ARE DIFFERENT TO YOURS BECAUSE THEY WORK HARDER DEFENSIVELY.... SO GOOD GOING FORWARD, QUESTIONS DEFENSIVELY. ALSO THOUGHT YOUR DEFENCE WERE SLOW, OR AS YOU MENTIONED, DO YOU GIVE CREDIT TO MOLESEY FORWARDS ON HOW QUICK THEY ARE ?

We have major injury problems at the back and another issue which will remain in house but give credit to Moleseys attackers because they are quick both in physical attributes and in the mind as they are intelligent players. Their first goal and their best two other chances were down to clear defensive errors though and you wont win many games by giving any team those type of chances

Molesey's forwards seemed to miss a lot more than you guys from that excellent video!! Fairplay for admitting they were better though.

YEAH FAIR COMMENT FAT BOY, BUT IN MOLESEY'S DEFENCE, THEY COULD TURN ROUND AND SAY, AT LEAST THEY ARE CREATING CHANCES SOME CLEAR-CUT ONES. TO BE HONEST, IN MY OPINION WATCHING THE GAME, IF IT WERE NOT FOR CHERTSEY KEEPER IT COULD HAVE BEEN EVEN MORE LET ALONE THE CHANCES MISSED.

Molesey did deserve to win and we seemed to fall apart once they scored.

 

We started bright, and look dangerous, but i think we looked unfit, lacking serious confidence and belief.

 

Young players like Simon Cox, Ollie Treacher and Tom O'Regan who in my opinion have by far enough ability to play Ryman Premier football at least seem to have gone backwards since there great start to the season? any comments ChertseyTown.

I've been supporting the club for 25 years and i've never know 3 years like it, where we have always started so well every year and then faltered every year.

 

On a point made earlier in this thread, ChertseyTown, where is Senior Patterson? No official word from the club where he has been for the past 2 months, no confirmation that he has left? Its seems to me the drop in form coincided with him leaving, not being there etc?

Asking round the club, Chris Gay mentioned he has work issues, others saying there were disagreements between the two off you?

 

Instead of signing new players, or offering good money to new players, do you not think you should be doing your best to get him back?

My dad used to take me to chertsey when i was younger, even had a season ticket!! The days when they were playing Yeovil, Aldershot and other big teams, players like Stuart Cash, johnson hippolyte, Jason Tucker and Trevor algrave!! I used to love it!! Big crowds, would love to see them get back to them days but dunno whether they will at the moment, maybe the team needs a shake up in all departments, management aswell maybe?

Great win for Molesey and have to agree with Animal a decent manager would get Chertsey promoted with the players they have and have had there. Looks like a two horse race between Molesey and Guildford.

It's a strange dilemma - if Spencer wasn't managing would he still feel inclined to continue ploughing money into the Club.?Without his money, would they then be as close to success as they have been recently?

I think Chertsey are one of the better sides Molesey have played this season but I felt that Molesey did simply work harder and had more desire for the result.

 

I think it is one of Moleseys biggest strengths. The players work so hard for one another and for the club.

 

I was extremely critical of Steve Webb (manager50) when we were relegated and when we didn't go back up last season but he is making me eat my words by producing Moleseys longest winning run in 50 years and placing us firmly in the race for the title.

 

I so hope Molesey can get the promotion because in my ten years of watching them we have never won anything or ever really challenged for the league... I'm as desperate for success as the players are!

 

Could everyone just do us a favour and beat (or at least draw with) Guildford

 

I'm already looking forward to Molesey vs. Guildford at Walton Road... Being quite late in the season it could be the deciding match!!!

 

Oh BTW, Moses Spencer said that he will take Matt Baxter back out of his pocket and give him back to Chertsey now lol, only kidding!

JACK made a big impact when he came in. he has a great attention to detail, and could manage at a much higher level. his links with pro clubs must of been of great use. if as you have said he has left, it will be a major loss. this squad not nearly as good as the vase side from last season.
