Sawbridgeworth 2-3 Enfield Town

A Comedy of Errors in which Sawbo can feel hard done by and Enfield Town can feel a bit lucky.

15th minute Ian Cooper was against the last man and brought down into the box. No booking or sending off but a penalty which Stuart Snowden scored.

17th minute Town conceded a soft consolation goal.

Soon after Town conceded a soft second goal.

2 –1 at half time.

Town then had a well-planned move with Lee Smith scoring a beautiful goal 2 – 2.

Sawbo then got an indirect Free kick and put it straight in the top corner, peach of a goal. Sawbo celebrated for ages whilst Chopper took a goal kick.

Town then went on the attack and Brad Quinn was brought down in the box, lino flagged and Keith Eglington had no choice but to give another penalty. Brave call but correct call by the lino.

Keeper then saved it but was adjudged to have moved. Snowden then scored 3 – 2.

Sawbo feeling dejected went on the attack again and for the next half an hour town clung on to its lead.

Ian Cooper was again brought down in the box but Keith Eglington didn't appear keen to give the foul

3 points but we were a bit lucky!

Cooper and Smith were really impressive up front. The quicksilver Cooper is small, fast, very skilful, the ball seems to stick to his foot. He could have had a goal or two tonight, he hit the woodwork after a breathtaking piece of skill. Smith is stocky and strong, covers the whole pitch - literally - deceptively skilful, and what a finisher.

The good times could be back with these two playing so well together.

Now, if Chopper can get rid of those socks.......

We'll certainly miss Lee Smith in the FA Cup match on Saturday.

Breathtaking is the word - All season we have been comparing the new potential strikers to Danny Clarke and found them wanting in some way. Sorry Danny but these two are better on last nights performance. No Off-sides and when they go forward they are creating opportunities all over the park. Good to see David Allen tracking back and retrieving the ball a bit - ditto Matty Negus.

When Peter Ulatowski returns from suspension he is going to find it hard to get into the starting 11 if they remain as good as this.
