Very well done to Steve Newing and the lads. That is an absolutely outstanding performance and result. Not many teams will put five past AFC Sudbury on their own ground. Tonight the lads showed their true potential and it will lift everyone for the second half of the season. Great to see Stuart Blackburne's name on the score-sheet. Welcome back Stuart !

A very solid first half when we could have been 4 or 5 up with Liam Hope having one effort punched off his head on the goal line but it wasn't seen by the officials and Rob was rarely threatened.

Second half stated with John Moore hitting the post before a mix up on the edge of the area allowed Guns to pounce and score into the empty net. From then on it was a case of how many we were going to win by. The fourth goal looked to have gone in off the defender but mist people credit it to Liam Hope. Stuart Blackburne raced onto a lovely pass by Leon Osei ad we broke away quickly and lifted the ball over the keepers challenge.

Sudbury's consolation goal seemed a fair decision for the penalty.

The new bar and facilities at the ground look wonderful and make it a very nice looking place except for the pitch but that didn't stop us, well done lads!

Great night...well worth the long trip out to Suffolk.. well done to Steve and the lads.

Goals 1 and 4 plus Hope hitting the post and the handball now on the cold end... In all the excitment and cold I missed goals 2,3 and 5.

Brilliant performance and a great night to be a Towner. Definitely the highlight of the season so far, well done to Steve and the boys.

Jonny Moore MoM for me, although Jonah and Guns weren't far behind. Liam and Dan Forward both excellent also. Our defence looked totally comfortable up until we took our foot off the gas at 0-4 up somewhat. Nice to see Stuart back involved!!

Bring on the league leaders!!

Cracking result. Not many teams will score 5 against Sudbury. Well done!

Johny Moore has clearly made a difference to the midfield. However, I thought that Sudbury were very disappointing. I was expecting something better from them. Their back line looked extremely ponderous although after the first 20 minutesd number 3 did realise that he had to beat Guns to the ball first or play him strength to strengh rather than try to outpace him or hold off. When Guns swapped with Ossei on the left flank in the second half he was again at 6's and 7's as he could not find an answer to Ossei's tricks. Stuart beat them all ends up for pace and that must have boosted his confidence. I am still OTM (over the moon) what a great way to spend a Tuesday evening.

We must not get carried away. ETU will be stronger stuff.

I'm disappointed to have missed the game but Suffolk not the easiest of venues to go to on a Tuesday night in January (then again who arranged for West Ham to go to Newcastle on a Wednesday night in January, barmy).

Sudbury have had a rollercoaster season with some results that swing equally amazingly one way to the other. They've lost to Heybridge 5-1 this season (although beat them 2-1 on New Years Day) and lost 0-4 Home to Romford, then again they beat GWR 4-0 away and beat Maldon 6-3 as well as away wins at Canvey Island in the Tropht 2-1 and home 5-1 win v's Hendon (Trophy). plus the'yve drawn games with Leyton and Ilford amongst others.

Apart from our home 0-3 GWR defeat no one has really 'turned us over as such'.

Sudbury are a good side on their day, they have scored as many goals as we have this season and goal difference between us is only what Tuesday's result sprung up. So they could not in any way be underestimated but are very beatable if the game plan goes right and chances are put away.

Well done everyone Steve, players and supporters who encouraged the team on. Saturday will be a benchmark on where we are at the mo and what can be achieved.
