Just for the record can we have a poll on who has seen "Escape to Victory" - I saw it and wished I hadn't.

Yes I saw it. I thought that when Russell Osman said he didn't want to escape from the Nazi Camps at half time because he thought that "we can win this" was one of the most credible moments in cinematic history.....

Cast wise it was certainly football's version of 'The Towering Inferno' and 'The Great Escape' wasn't it

Maybe it's just me but I really can't believe that the likes of LATO, Horace and Sjj2112 have never seen 'When Saturday Comes' or 'Fever Pitch' as they are both 'unmissable' cult football films

 

Actually I have seen Fever Pitch - wish I hadn't as thought it was pretty awful. Book is inevitably a lot better.

 

I have seen Escape to Victory of course, rhodesy do you know who scored for the aliies in that game?

LATO - I can't remember off the top of my head as I haven't seen the film for a while but you're going to tell me it was Kazimierz Denya aren't you

Kaz Deyna (RIP) got the third but be honest (fat chance!) you wouldn't have got that if anyone else had asked the question. Realistically he was the hardest of the four scorers, the other three are more appreciated on a world scale
