Have the poorly Refs been consulted, are they in favour.Need to be a Football lover to take these games on.24 hrs to earn £40,beats the Minimum Wage.Just imagine you did not really like the Assistant, great weekend.

And you will have to endure the management on the flight back if they have disagreed with your decisions.

Y.V. Refs would travel First Class, not with the hoy polloy.

first class minimum surely, with the amount of money brought in with bookings!!!

its a good topic but think most clubs will veto it ,i know most of my club would struggle to get time off for the game, also i'm sure the clubs would be out of pocket somehow.

Interesting to note Guernsey Rugby Football Club play in the London South East DIV 2 League, against Teams from Guildford,Old Regaiteians, seem to win so easy at HOME.and top the table.Think I might ring these Clubs for their opinion on Crowds,Hotels,Flights, see if they have had any problems.Maybe even ring William Hil see if I can get a price on Guernsey F.C. Storming C.C.L.1 NEXT YEAR.

My mate runs Twickenham rugby club and he says that all that is covered when they play in Guernsey is the flights......Not saying it will be the same for CCL as the egg chasers but thats why I said financial costs would all have to be agreed before anyone takes a casting vote.

I think im split in this lots of fors and againsts

Potential problems that are bound to arise!!

1. PLAYERS WHO DONT FLY

2. PLAYERS WHO WORK SAT/ SUN MORNINGS

3. NO N.H.S -player gets a bad injury who pays?

4. TIME TRAVELLING TO THE GAME - I hate the trip to Hartley wintney let alone Guernsey.

5. WHO REFEREES GUERNSEY HOME GAMES? -Enough 'homers' in this league already!!

6. If Guernsey fc play all there league home games saturday what if they are drawn at home in cup games and we get weather like this season? Midweek to Guernsey!!!

7. PLAYERS WHO ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TRAVEL ABROAD! -yes there must be some!

8. FLIGHT DELAYS THERE AND BACK

9. BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE!! - petty but will cost a fortune!!

There must be many more but those are some off top of my head!

Plus Points

1.WEEKEND AWAY FROM THE WIFE!!!

2 WEEKEND AWAY FROM THE WIFE!!

3 WEEKEND AWAY FROM THE WIFE!!

And just one last thing if this is a representative side made up off Guernsey based players they could potentially walk away with division 1. Im sure if we took a rep side made up of the best players in this division now it would walk many step 6 leagues and no doubt give step 5 diviisions a run for there money.

We should have had AFC on Tue in the second leg semi final of the cup but as their 1st team are away and I think a few of the ressies are involved with the 1sts they postponed it. Also ground share issues........ AFC also have a 1st team game Friday and talking to them I think you may find a reserve team coming down to play you CC. Having said that they are a very good, strong, orgainised side with a few full time players involved so should be a good game which I should be able to come and watch.....Where is the best place to park as last time I found myself driving up and down tha A3.

There is no spectator car parking available on the ground for this match, only in the roads on the northbound A3 where you should cross to the ground via the footbridge.

I have received the AFCW squad for this game which is stronger than I would have expected.

I would imagine a few changes but it will be a good game.....Do you sell Bovril m8..........

Yes re bovril

How about a league rep side playing "Guernsey FC" home and away this season before any decision is made.

Could answer many of the questions posed?

I know we have a fixture backlog before you mention it.

Just sorted this out.

Example - Saturday 29th January 2011

Depart Gatwick South 11.50am Arrive Guernsey 12.50pm

Depart Guernsey 18.15pm Arrive Gatwick South 19.20pm

Return fare (With Flybe) £93.98 inc taxes.

So for a party of 25 this would cost £2,349.50 per game which would equate to £49,339.50 for 21 home league matches!

Plus their costs re away matches!

No idea how far the airport is to the stadium or what time is required to check in to make the evening flight back (that is the last one I could see).

Assuming Sunday return, add in 25 people in a b & b...........etc etc.

Someone must have some serious money at "Guernsey FC" to even consider this. Or a private jet?

From a personal level i'd love an away day in Guernsey. Sounds like a good weekend away with your football mates. And a little bonus for me is I have family on the island so would be ideal.

However looking at all the facts its looks like there is no way this could happen. The money involved looks mad and if fixtures start to pile up for them what would happen? Also what happens it there is another ash cloud or something along those lines again? As TRS said to many ifs and buts at the moment but a team doing a trial run would give us all a better idea of how it would work.
