Help Poole Town have a Happy New Year.

I realise that this a forum for Rebel's fans but please indulge this old man. I grew up in Slough and supported the Rebels for many years at he Greyhound Stadium. As my family still live in Slough I have been kept aware of the problems that you have had with both owners and the council.

 

I now live in Poole in Dorset and Poole Town FC have suffered in similar ways to Slough Town.

 

In the mid 1990s were kicked out of our stadium (we built it but the council owned the land) to make room for developments for Speedway and Greyhound Racing. Since then we have been tenants of various local clubs and now use a school playing field.

 

Despite these trials we have won the Wessex League Title twice running (2008/9 and 2009/2010) but were denied promotion to the Zamaretto South and West due to ground grading.

 

In November we put in an planning application to build a new stadium on the edge of Poole and consultation ends on the 6th January.

 

We now find that people can officially support the planning application even if they are not resident in the Borough and this is why I am posting here. Please help Poole Town by registering and commenting.
