Good Luck to them with their proposed improvements at The Spectrum, lets hope Guildford City Council get behind their Local side, and support them all the way. Many authorities do not do a thing to help their Local Clubs progress, hope this is not the case here. Now the hard bit starts, maintaining their excellent form on the pitch.

Still the worse ground to watch football at I have ever been to and the currenty facalities are very poor even for the Combined Counties being only able to view from one side and being miles from the pitch!

The Christmas list of jobs that need to meet next year’s March 31 deadline are: a walkway on three sides including railings; a small covered stand; one extra ladies toilet; relocation of the referees’ dressing room; and a new turnstile block.

City also intend extending the current 135-seat stand, though it is understood that work is not a priority to meet Step 4 criteria in the non-league pyramid.

No mention of a clubhouse, nor of access to the toilet blocks without the use of climbing gear. We at Egham have a committee member not in the first flush of youth for whom access to the gents' toilet is an impossibility because of the step up needed. He cannot be the only one to find access for a pee somewhat awkward. GCFC are deluding themselves if they think tinkering like this will give them a ground worthy of promotion. There are clubs at park level with a better range of facilities; how they got this far without a clubhouse beggars belief. Their current team is clearly a good one, and will probably finish as champions, but the Spectrum is a decidedly awful place in which to watch football.
