Hacked off with the ETFC newsline

I couldn't get to the game on Saturday so whilst sitting at home watching Wales Getting hammered I decided to call the newsline to get the result. When you ring any of these types of lines you always expect to have to listen to a bit of drivel so that the line owner can make a bit of cash. HOwever, all I wanted was the result but to get this I had to listen to a minute by minute summary of the game. As a result I have had to pay out for an expensive telephoine call just to get the result of my team.

I wouldn't use the expression rip off line as I have picked up results from it in the past with no trouble at all. I put this occurance down to a mistake and not the club trying to rip me off.

It happens all the time..Just tell us the score at the beginning of the summery!!!

page 399 on teletext (or ceefax, which ever is the BBC1, has the results about 18:00.

 

A scheme run @ Southport is one person at the game texts scores to a second person who is @ home, and on line; and he/she puts the scores on the message board.

 

Simple and aslong as it is not 10-0, quite economical.
