WHAT ARE THE CHANCES..................???

Could someone please provide an update on the chances of any matches being played at Brimsdown over the Christmas holiday period.

Appreciate much depends on the weather and the state of the pitch. Believe the Met Office forecast for the Enfield area over the next 5 days is slightly more encouraging, with little to no snow falls, and temperatures around the seasonal average.

Is the Enfield 1893 match still scheduled to be played on Thursday, and what are the prospects for Monday afternoon against Cheshunt ?

Update welcome. Thanks.

Pictures of Goldsdown Road earlier today are HERE which may interest you and others. Can't see tomorrows game going ahead but if it thaws (a big IF!!!) out a bit over Christmas the game on Monday hopefully will/maybe/fingers crossed get the go ahead.

Many thanks thecoldend for your pictorial update. Very much appreciated.

A picture is worth a thousand words and your shots certainly tell a story. Hard to believe, but down here on the south coast there is now no snow to be seen.

Looks like tomorrow nights match is a write-off, but hope things improve and we can all look forward to some action on Monday afternoon.

Well done on your excellent video coverage to date this season. Keep up the good work and have a good Christmas.

I am no expert in football pitches but from what I saw today the ground underneath wasn't frozen as the temp had gone up slighty....the issue may be how much water is left on the surface if the snow does thaw?? Lets hope it does!!!

All it'll take is a good 15-20 guys from both sides with a hard broom. The pitch could be cleared in 45-60mins and both set of teams get some match practice.

Oh come on EU. 40 people with one broom can clear the pitch in 45 minutes.

You must be joking.

40 people with 40 brooms could not do it in 45 minutes.

wot about if the broom is a big broom and they all moved at the same time ????????:waytogo: :waytogo: :)
