Music at The Meadow

I love music but I bloody HATE The Pet Shop Boys. Is that really the sort of music we want our great club associated with? Surely something more, shall we say, masculine, would be appropriate. Rather than marching out onto the hallowed turf to the nasal whining tones of West End Girls (I mean, really) perhaps something like The Allman Bros "Jessica", Springsteen's "Born To Run", Genesis' "Behind The Lines" or The Who's "Join Together" blasting out might be more inspirational...

In fact , when I think about it, I suspect our financial woes can be placed fairly and squarely on the less than broad shoulders of Mr Tennant and Mr Lowe as I'm convinced our gates would double if we had some decent music playing pre-match and half-time. (Mmmmaybe...)

Is there anything preventing us donating some CDs to the club to enhance our match day experience?

I agree that the pre match music is a tad uninspirational. I got to a game early a few weeks back and was treated to 20 minutes of the "going for gold" theme tune, drove me feckin mad!! Usually the team enter the field to Copland's "Fanfare for the common man" which is only slightly better.

My sugggestions would be "Nymphetamine" by Cradle of filth, or ELO's classic "Don't bring me down".

Possibly for those midweek Red insure cup games we could have "Ghost town" by the Specials?

When I started going it was Bridge Over Troubled Water recorded by Simon and Garfunkel and skilfully spun by Rob Drummie. Shooting Star by Dollar took over later. Best music ever was Clevedon away in the trophy, wall to wall 50s rockabilly.
