The Pitch/Slope

Obviously delighted with the ground roll out plans-and looks like its going to be a mighty fine stadium.

That given-in the midst of this -the pitch itself still has quite a marked slope itowards coffin end-despite the improvements made about 5 years ago.

I wonder whether anything is going to be dovetailed into the develpoment to further reduce the slope of the pitch; as we will othewrwise end up with a great stadium-and a pitch with still a very marked slope on it;which may look a bit odd-

(stupid boy-wish i had got someojne to ask this at the forum-but maybe it could still receive an 'official' response.

Was'nt really expecting much else-and any pitch works is i guess just being greeedy.

Still -mildly disappointed as you do wonder whether what will be a superb faciliity otherwise will be just slightly tarnished by having a significantly sloping pitch-and more importantly-has an opportunity thereby been lost to make the overall facility more marketable to clubs from higher echelons (not just football clubs either ) who might otherwise have been attracted to the facilities for pre-season training by the seaside that MFC could otherwise now offer-and at i would suggest a good return to MFC.

Whilst they would have the 3G pitches-would higher echelon clubs still need a slightly more level grass pitch itself on which to train ?

Easy to say however, but i guess any pitch works would cost an additional £10K' plus the perimeter pitch 'fencing 'would need to be raised.

If it is design and build though-it still could be accomodated if somehow it could be funded (i'm sure there is a contingency fund )

To conduct significant work on the pitch would cost £100k+ and unless I'm mistaken, the current gradient would not prevent promotion to the Football League. Getting the drainage and improved water pressure to the pitch are the most critical things and both these will happen as part of the planned works. Not so sure there are other benefits for us to miss out on as you suggest Michael.

Michael, the slope at Barnet's Underhill is more severe than that at Hartsdown.
