FANS FORUM - TONIGHT

For those of us who were not there last night could someone clarify what the plans are as it is not quite clear in the press release.

I appreciate that the North stand will include changing facilities and will be a covered terrace but it does not explain fully what else is going in. What football facility is going in at the on the Hotel side. I presume it will be a terrace. Once again it mentions the Hartsdown Rd end being social/corporate with balconies but what about underneath, I presume it will be a covered terrace. If that is correct what about seats, where are they going.

I apppreciate there was a lot to cram into the press release so could someone just clarify please.

More details and interviews follow this evening.

Yes some of us did have more important things to do last night than attend (in my case this was attending my mothers christmas party she is (as some of you may know) blind and 92 and believe it or not far more important than a football club to me).

The silence is deafining from the attendes.

Just an ambigously worded press release is not enough information for me.

Lets get some real facts ie.

1) Does MFC have a secure tenure at the new stadium.

2) What fixtures are likely to be affected.

3) If a fixture has to be moved where will it take place.

4) What facilities are there going to be for supporters.

5) Are Travelodge going to request a catering outlet to be built close to the hotel.

Those are just some of the questions that I would have asked last night.

4) Is there any conflict of interest amoungst the parties involved.

Some answers are:

No games will be affected or moved.

No conflict of parties.

More food outlets and 3 new turnstile entrances.

For those of us there the new proved to be very exciting including the fact that once 3G pitch ready the construction company will promote and do the advertising.

I think Jim, after waiting for so long re this, it hasn't sunk into people the signifcant step that has now been taken.

I must also say the 3 representatives from Construct Stadia present were very professional but, above all, very approachable too.

Just to add there were plans on wall last night which explained new layout and I am guessing these will be up tomorrow too. Regarding terraces, seating etc there will be loads (end of project capacity 4200). Some is just terracing (North) other parts a mixture of seats and terracing.

So just to clarify for those of us not at the meeting:

Stage 1 (Coffin End and dressing room side) starts in the New Year. But I'm guessing the Coffin End will be out of bounds to spectators.

Stage 2 (Hartsdown Road end).

Will anything happen to the remaining side (where seats are now)?

As i heard it last night three sides of the ground must be available to spectators for matches and a safety certificate issued for each game.

Where the seats are now will be terracing and another 450/500 seat stand. From my memory( thats risky )ground capacity initially will be 4200 but can be expanded to 5000 ,it will be a grade A facility great lovely super and smashing.

A fairly benign day just the usual...............a new stadium and an adjacent 3G pitch .....normal sort of day really.

Oh! you missed out on the xmas raffle tickets but do not worry you can buy some (more) on Saturday and so can everyone else!

Always amuses me how many threads on the Margate forum, and we (Ramsgate )get a mention in some form, we know they love us really, :icon29: , Travelodge seemed to be doing well, isnt there a Travelodge by the railway station, is there demand for another one, there is one at Westwood chaos, and now i hear that the old swallows hotel in Ramsgate is a new travelodge, (not sure if they pulling that one down or just converting it)..... and wats a 3G pitch, is it like 3D.. or HD,..

A 3G pitch is a playing surface with grass like fibres and small tyre granules spread on it. One of Thanets finest examples can be found at Minster's recreational ground. In my opinion, this type of playing surface is superb. No horrible burns like you get on a normal astroturf pitch.

The development sounds exciting and is long overdue.
